Job Summary and QualificationsThe vascular technologist operates ultrasound equipment to make quality images of designated portions of the body under the direct order of a physician and in accordance with standard operating procedures. Accomplishes patient care in a timely, professional, efficient, and safe manner. The vascular technologist must be able to think and act independently and assess emergency situations accurately. Good oral and written communication skills are required. The Vascular Technologist may be required to perform invasive and non-invasive procedures on a variety of patients, utilize sterile techniques and assist physicians as necessary throughout the Mission Health System. Continuing education, learned skills and experience will be utilized. This position will function without constant supervision to produce superior quality imaging studies. In addition to the ARDMS, ARRT or CCI Vascular Ultrasound certification, the Vascular Technologist must routinely work within another qualifying ARDMS specialty ultrasound certification, as directed by department managers/supervisors to meet the specific needs of the departments. This includes but is not limited to; Abdomen (AB), Breast (BR), Fetal Echo (FE), Neurosonology (NE), Obstetrics & Gynecology (OB/GYN) or Pediatric Sonography (PS)
