Automotive Auto Body Estimator

Carl Black Roswell Collision Center

 

Auto Body Shop Estimator:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential by utilizing software systems. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Strong automotive background with strong customer service skills is REQUIRED! Qualified applicants MUST BE customer service oriented and ready to work!

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 year experience Automotive Industry and/or minimum 1 year experience as an Auto Physical Damage Estimator or equivalent job experience.
  • Excellent computer skills including knowledge of software estimating technologies.
  • Previous experience with insurance company relations, preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Pre-Employment Drug Screening

Auto Body Shop Estimator Duties:

  • Body shop estimators will be responsible for tracking the progress of repairs on individual vehicles. This will include communicating with customers to keep them updated on the status of their vehicle or ensuring that all necessary parts have been ordered in a timely manner.
  • Communicating with insurance companies regarding the repair process and estimated costs, as well as handling claims processing.
  • Performing administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, ordering parts and supplies, and filing paperwork.
  • Examines damaged vehicle to determine extent of structural, body, mechanical or interior damage.
  • Estimates cost of labor and parts to repair or replace each damaged item.
  • Reviews repair cost estimates with body shop manager.
  • Determines feasibility of repair versus replacement of parts, such as bumpers, fenders and doors.
  • Prepares insurance forms to indicate repair cost estimates and recommendations.
  • Estimates cost of repainting, converting to special purposes or customizing undamaged vehicles.
  • Observes all Federal, State, Local and Company safety rules and regulations in the performance of duties.
