Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced Body Shop Manager to join our team. In this role, your primary focus will be to oversee the overall operation, profitability, customer satisfaction, and performance of our Body Shop. You will need to effectively lead personnel, manage collision and paint workflows, and ensure repairs are completed safely and efficiently while maintaining exceptional customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Hire, train, and evaluate Body Shop employees
  • Foster a positive, professional, and safety-focused work environment
  • Direct the daily workflow to resolve bottlenecks and maximize shop productivity
  • Review repair orders, estimates, supplements, and production schedules to ensure promised delivery dates are met
  • Drive shop profitability by auditing repair quality, optimizing parts and material inventory, and maximizing technician labor hours
  • Communicate repair status, delays, and completion timelines professionally with customers, insurance adjusters, and vendors
  • Enforce company safety policies, conduct regular safety inspections, and maintain compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations
  • Verify all completed repairs meet strict manufacturer and dealership specifications before vehicle delivery
  • Track and optimize critical shop KPIs, including key-to-key cycle time, touch time, and technician proficiency limits
  • Perform additional supporting tasks, inventory stock management, employee coaching, or related assignments as required by management

Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy-duty truck or collision repair
  • Minimum 3 years of repair estimating experience is required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience with Mitchell, CCC, Truck writer, CDK, Decisive, or similar estimating software is highly preferred
  • Exceptional verbal communication skills, strong conflict resolution abilities, high customer service aptitude, and a sharp focus on detail and accuracy
  • A positive attitude, strong leadership skills, and a reliable attendance record
  • Must pass requirements for a drug-test
  • Must have a valid driver's license (CDL preferred)
  • Ability to meet physical requirements; standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in an environment with exposure to noise and paint fumes
