Job description

RV Collision, Body & Paint Technician

Off Grid RV Service LLC (OGRVS) – Longview, WA

Full-Time | Flat Rate + High Incentives | High Earning Potential

Off Grid RV Service LLC is expanding our custom RV operation and looking for an experienced RV Collision, Body & Paint Technician to help develop and grow our collision and paint department.

OGRVS is a custom RV service and fabrication shop—not a traditional dealership. Our work ranges from everyday collision damage to fiberglass reconstruction, compartment and body repairs, custom modifications, full-body paint, refinishing, and restoration work.

We're looking for a technician who takes pride in producing high-end finished work and has the ability to take a damaged coach from teardown through final paint and reassembly.

Responsibilities

  • RV collision and body repair
  • Fiberglass and composite repair
  • Fiberglass reconstruction and fabrication
  • Repair cracked, broken, delaminated, or damaged exterior panels
  • Repair and replace RV body panels, skirts and compartment doors
  • Structural damage assessment and repair
  • Collision teardown and reassembly
  • Body filler and finishing work
  • Sanding, blocking and surface preparation
  • Primer application and preparation
  • Paint matching and color blending
  • Basecoat/clearcoat application
  • Single-stage and multi-stage paint systems
  • Full-body RV paint and refinishing
  • Clearcoat repair and restoration
  • Gelcoat repair and refinishing
  • Masking and paint preparation
  • Cut, buff and polish finished paint
  • Repair cosmetic damage, scratches and dents
  • Remove and reinstall exterior moldings, lights, doors and accessories
  • Replace decals and graphics when necessary
  • Perform custom body modifications and fabrication
  • Document hidden damage discovered during teardown
  • Work with service writers on supplemental collision estimates
  • Maintain professional-quality workmanship throughout the repair

We're Looking for More Than a Parts Changer

OGRVS specializes in custom work.

We need someone who can look at damaged fiberglass, aluminum, composite material or an RV body structure and determine how to properly repair it, even when replacing the entire assembly isn't practical.

The ideal technician can take a project from:

Damage → Teardown → Structural/Fiberglass Repair → Bodywork → Prep → Paint → Buff → Reassembly → Finished Coach

We're especially interested in someone who can fabricate a solution when replacement parts are discontinued or unavailable.

Preferred Experience

Strong candidates may have experience in:

  • RV collision repair
  • Automotive collision repair
  • Heavy truck collision
  • Bus or motorcoach repair
  • Marine fiberglass repair
  • Fiberglass/composite fabrication
  • Automotive refinishing
  • Custom automotive paint
  • Restoration work
  • Body fabrication
  • Paint correction and polishing

Previous RV experience is preferred but not mandatory.

A highly skilled automotive, marine, heavy-truck, restoration or custom-paint technician can be an excellent fit.

What We Expect

We're looking for someone who:

  • Produces professional-quality body and paint work
  • Can work independently
  • Understands proper repair procedures
  • Takes pride in panel fit, body lines and final finish
  • Can properly match and blend colors
  • Knows how to diagnose problems before burying them under body filler
  • Maintains an organized work area
  • Protects customer interiors and surrounding surfaces
  • Can accurately identify additional damage during teardown
  • Communicates when a repair requires additional labor or materials
  • Is reliable and productive
  • Understands the importance of completing jobs efficiently without sacrificing quality

Flat Rate + High Performance Incentives

This is a high-income position for a technician who can produce high-quality work.

OGRVS offers a competitive flat-rate compensation structure with aggressive production incentives.

We believe technicians who consistently turn high-quality billable hours should be rewarded for their productivity.

Compensation opportunities include:

  • Competitive flat-rate compensation based on experience
  • High billable-hour incentives
  • Production bonuses
  • Additional incentives for exceeding weekly production goals
  • Increased earning potential for technicians capable of independently completing major jobs
  • Advancement opportunities as the collision department grows
  • Potential Lead Collision Technician / Collision Department Manager opportunity for the right person

There is significant earning potential for a technician who can consistently produce quality work.

If you can turn hours, maintain quality and get jobs out the door, we want you to make serious money.

Help Build the OGRVS Collision Department

This is also an opportunity for the right person to help us build and develop our collision and paint department.

We're especially interested in someone with enough experience to help establish efficient processes for:

Estimating → Teardown → Supplements → Parts → Body Repair → Paint → Reassembly → Quality Control

For the right candidate, this position has room to develop into a leadership position running the collision and paint side of OGRVS.

Why OGRVS?

You won't spend every day replacing bumpers on identical cars.

RV collision work requires creativity.

One project may involve rebuilding a fiberglass rear cap on a diesel pusher. The next might require fabricating a discontinued body panel, repairing a damaged compartment, matching a multi-color full-body paint scheme, repairing collision damage on a camper van, or incorporating custom body modifications during the repair.

If you're a talented collision technician who enjoys fabrication, custom work and solving problems other shops don't want to touch, we'd like to talk to you.

Position: RV Collision, Body & Paint Technician
Company: Off Grid RV Service LLC
Location: Longview, Washington
Schedule: Full-Time
Compensation: Flat Rate + High Performance Incentives
Experience: Experienced Collision/Body/Paint Technician Preferred

To apply, send your resume or work history.

Photos of completed collision repairs, fiberglass work, restorations, fabrication or paint work are strongly encouraged.
