Job description

We are seeking an experienced Auto Body Technician to join our team with a unique opportunity for long-term growth and leadership. This position is ideal for a skilled technician who is looking for more than just a job — someone who wants to build a career, learn the business side of collision repair, and take on ownership role of the company.

The current owner is looking for the right person to become a key part of the future of the business. Over time, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to learn all aspects of the operation, including repair processes, customer relationships, estimating, workflow management, and daily shop operations.

This is a rare opportunity for an experienced auto body professional who wants to grow into the business, future owner role while continuing to use their hands-on repair expertise.

The Auto Body Technician will be responsible for performing high-quality repairs, including body repairs, dent removal, refinishing preparation and painting. This position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently while maintaining excellent safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality auto body repairs according to manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
  • Inspect damaged vehicles and determine the necessary repair procedures.
  • Repair damaged body panels, bumpers, fenders, doors, hoods, and other exterior components.
  • Perform dent repairs, metal straightening, body filler application, sanding, and surface preparation and painting.
  • Complete cosmetic repairs following proper repair procedures.
  • Repair vehicle components including:
    • Body panels
    • Trim pieces
    • Bumpers
    • Grilles
    • Mirrors
    • Doors and hoods
  • Prepare vehicles for paint by ensuring surfaces are properly repaired, smooth, and ready for refinishing.
  • Perform tear-down and reassembly of vehicles after repairs.
  • Follow repair estimates and ensure work is completed within expected timelines.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of completed repairs and parts used.
  • Ensure all repairs meet quality control standards before vehicle delivery.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Follow all OSHA, workplace safety, and equipment safety guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively with estimators, painters, technicians, and management.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of professional auto body repair experience.
  • Strong knowledge of collision repair processes and automotive body systems.
  • Experience with:
    • Dent repair
    • Body filler and sanding techniques
    • Vehicle disassembly and reassembly
    • Cosmetic repairs
    • Painting
    • Mixing paint
  • Ability to read and understand repair estimates and work orders.
  • Experience using auto body tools and equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
  • Valid driver's license preferred.

Preferred Qualifications
