Job Description:

The Auto Body Refinisher's primary responsibility is refinishing to ensure a quality repair of each customer's vehicle. The Auto Body Refinisher mixes paint, colour matches and refinishes each vehicle. The Auto Body Refinisher works with all team members in achieving the repair facilities KPIs.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Ensures consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan
  • Inspects body and prep repairs for deficiencies that may impact the quality of the refinish process; advise production supervisor as required
  • Ensures all paint deficiencies are corrected through wet sand and polishing (i.e. runs, dirt nibs, etc.)
  • Prep surface for paint using hand and power tools
  • Review damage reports of the repairs to be completed
  • Surface preparation, vehicle masking, priming, and top coating.
  • Accurately mixes paint to ensure quality colour match and apply to repaired or replaced body panel
  • Apply new knowledge and skills to ensure a high level of quality and productivity, which directly contributes to KPI's (Sales/ CP/ EBITA/ BHPD/ NPS).
  • Take responsibility for outcomes and continuously seek learning opportunities to improve performance

Minimum Education and/or Experience Required for the Job

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of 2 years previous Auto Body Paint Refinishing experience in a collision repair facility refinish role

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Preferred Education and/or Experience

  • Red Seal Certification is preferred
  • I-Car Registered (working towards Gold Class certification)
  • PPG Certification preferred

Other RequirementsTravel, physical requirements, etc.

  • Frequently required to bend, crouch, reach, handle tools and lift approximately 50 lbs.
  • Must provide your own tools
  • Valid driver's license required
