Body Shop Painter / Prepper / All-Around Worker - Location: Roseville, MN | $1,500 Sign-On Bonus Who We Are

Universal Truck Service is a family-owned company that has grown from a small New Brighton shop in 2000 into a multi-location operation serving the Twin Cities trucking industry. The founders started Universal Truck Service in 2000, with the purchase of a small failing shop in New Brighton. Over the years our success and growth has led us to Roseville and a 68,000 square foot facility with a complete 18 bay truck shop and state-of-the-art bodyshop as well as our new Tanker and Trailer repair facility just 10 minutes north in New Brighton.

A Day in the Life

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Body Shop Painter, Prepper, and All-Around Worker to join our team. This multi-skilled role is responsible for prepping vehicles for paint, painting, assisting in body repairs, and supporting general shop operations. The ideal candidate is experienced, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

What You'll Do
  • Prepare vehicles for painting (masking, sanding, taping, priming)
  • Mix and match paint for accurate color and finish
  • Apply paint using spray guns and other equipment following OEM standards
  • Inspect painted surfaces for quality and make corrections as needed
  • Assist technicians in minor bodywork repairs (dent removal, filler work, panel, alignment)
  • Disassemble and reassemble vehicle parts as needed for paint or repair
  • Support body technicians with part replacement and hardware installation
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the paint booth and work areas
  • Clean tools and equipment after use
  • Assist with inventory control of paint and materials
  • Follow safety protocols and use PPE appropriately
