Automotive Technician | $30–$55/HR | Climate-Controlled Shop

Independent Automotive Repair Shop

Location: Plain City, OH

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM–5:30 PM

Pay Rate: $30–$55 per Flagged Hour (Flat Rate)

Pay Schedule: Twice Monthly (5th & 20th)

Typical Flagged Hours: Approximately 40 per Week

About the Shop

This professionally managed independent repair shop services approximately 80–85 vehicles each week, providing consistent workflow in a fully heated and air-conditioned facility.

You'll work on Domestic, Asian, European, fleet, and light diesel vehicles alongside a collaborative team with dedicated Service Advisors, a General Manager, and a Quality Technician who help keep the shop running efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive vehicle inspections
  • Complete Digital Vehicle Inspections (DVI) using Tekmetric
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and drivability concerns
  • Utilize Autel and Snap-on diagnostic equipment
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on Domestic, Asian, European, fleet, and light diesel vehicles
  • Complete engine and transmission replacements
  • Perform timing chain and head gasket repairs
  • Build accurate repair orders with labor times and parts information
  • Communicate repair findings with the front-office team

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of professional automotive repair experience
  • A-Level or B-Level diagnostic and mechanical ability
  • Strong vehicle inspection and diagnostic skills
  • Electrical diagnostic experience strongly preferred
  • Experience replacing engines and transmissions
  • ASE Certifications preferred
  • Experience with Tekmetric or DVI systems preferred (training available)
  • State inspection, emissions, DOT, or other automotive certifications are a plus
