Atlantic Undersea Test & Evaluation Center (AUTEC) is Arcata's newest partnership. AUTEC provides research, development, test and evaluation, engineering, analysis, and assessment, and fleet support capabilities for submarines, autonomous underwater systems, and offensive and defensive undersea weapon systems, and stewards existing and emerging technologies in support of undersea warfare for the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport.  Overview:  The Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC) Mission is to provide Naval Warfare Centers, the Fleet, and other customers with accurate undersea, surface, and in-air three-dimensional tracking data and other unique Atlantic test facilities. In support of Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E), and Fleet readiness assessment and training. AUTEC is a Major Range and Test Facility Base (MRTFB) and the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport's largest single team project, providing both deep and shallow water test and training environments. The CCB Janitor and General Maintenance worker is responsible for the overall janitorial and general maintenance support of a restricted access building and associated annex that includes approximately 46,000 square feet of administrative/technical support spaces. In addition, the CCB Janitor and General Maintenance worker will provide escort for tradesmen who do not have security access to the building. The CCB Janitor and General Maintenance position is accountable to the Test Operations Manager on the AUTEC project. Responsibilities:  Adherence to OSHA janitorial industry standards including proper training, wearing of PPE, controlling hazardous substances, and Code of Safe PracticesMaintain and utilize the facility's Janitorial Safety Manual including Material Safety Data SheetsGeneral cleaning and maintenance of common areas, conference spaces, and multi-use offices including mopping and sweeping of floors, vacuuming and cleaning of carpet and upholstery, identifying repair/replacement needs, dusting, polishing, and buffingClean and maintain employee break room including refrigerators, coffee makers, and microwavesClean, disinfect, and stock restrooms IAW standards for commercial spacesClean up spills with appropriate equipmentPerform minor repairs including fixing doors, floors, woodwork, and walls, painting, replacing lightbulbs and filters, and use of common hand and small electric power toolsNotify manager of major repairsCollect and dispose of trash and recyclable materials, clean bins, replace liners, and utilize an industrial incineratorComplete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision Keep cleaning supplies in stock and maintain clean and organized janitor closets IAW hazardous materials compliance Provide escort of tradesmen when required Provide back-up janitorial and general maintenance support at the Range Support Shop complex as needed Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications Required: High school graduate or equivalentOne (1) year related experience; preferredFamiliarity with OSHA industry standards including proper training, wearing of PPE, and control of hazardous substances; preferredComplete on-line training for janitorial safety (such as https://www.oshatrain.org/courses/mods/610e.html) within one (1) month of hire; requiredMust be able to obtain Industrial Incinerator certificate within three (3) months of hire; required Must be able to obtain Forklift Operator's license within six (6) months of hire; requiredProficient in reading and understanding basic schematics and possess basic math skillsProficient with Microsoft Office products with emphasis on Word and ExcelAbility to manage work time efficiently and independentlyAbility to lift at least 25 pounds, climb a step ladder, and climb one flight of stairsMust be able to access high reach areas by ladder, climb in and out of utility trenches, and on occasion, confined spacesAble to use common hand and small electric power toolsAble to work safety with a variety of cleaning suppliesAble to use basic cleaning equipment including floor bufferThis position requires the individual to be eligible to obtain a US Government security clearance; US Citizenship is requiredMust be able to reside in remote location with limited medical facilitiesA valid US Passport and Driver's License is required - no exceptions Note: Nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any timeArcata Associates is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer.
