✨ About the Role

The Audit Director for the Outaouais region oversees audit engagements (audits, reviews, and special engagements) and compilation engagements, while actively contributing to the firm’s growth and visibility in the region. As a true ambassador for Forvis Mazars, he builds lasting relationships with clients, business partners, and the local community, while ensuring the quality and compliance of the services provided.

 ️ Your Responsibilities

Technical Management and Supervision

    • Plan, execute, and review audit, review, assurance, and compilation engagements in accordance with professional standards and internal practices.

    • Supervise field teams, ensure the quality of deliverables, and manage technical issues.

    • Participate in resource allocation and the planning of regional engagements.

Regional Development and Client Relations

    • Develop and maintain strong business relationships with clients and prospects in the Outaouais region.

    • Serve as the regional point of contact for assurance engagements and complementary services.

    • Identify and capitalize on local opportunities in collaboration with other departments (tax, advisory, etc.).

    • Actively represent Forvis Mazars in the regional business community (events, professional networks, chambers of commerce).

Leadership and Team Management

    • Mentor and coach auditors and senior auditors, fostering their professional development.

    • Create a motivating and collaborative work environment.

    • Help attract and retain talent in the region in partnership with the HR team.

Organizational Contribution

    • Represent the regional perspective in the firm’s national initiatives.

    • Participate in cross-functional projects (innovation, sustainable development, training, organizational culture).

    • Support partners in implementing regional and national strategies.

  Your Profile

    • CPA designation required.

    • Minimum of 7 to 10 years of relevant experience in auditing.

    • Experience supervising and managing multidisciplinary teams.

    • Experience in market development and involvement in regional networks (a plus).

    • Strong interest in helping to promote Forvis Mazars in the Outaouais region.

Your Strengths

    • Excellent knowledge of audit, review, and related assurance engagement standards.

    • Good knowledge of the Canadian Accounting Standards for Non-Profit Organizations (NCOSBL) and the Canadian Accounting Standards for Entities (NCECF).

    • Good understanding of Canadian taxation (preparation of T1, T2, and other tax returns).

    • Inspirational leadership, business acumen, and a client-focused approach.

    • Strong interpersonal skills and adaptability to a regional market, with an entrepreneurial mindset.

 ️ Language Requirements

   • Fluency in spoken and written French is required.

   • Knowledge of English is also required, particularly given the nature of our client base and our partners located across Canada (especially in English-speaking provinces) as well as internationally, where English is the language of business. An advanced level of oral comprehension and communication is generally required, with use that may be daily depending on the role and assignments.
