The Supervisor, Auto Insurance I is a member-focusedlocal Brand Championwho motivates, coaches and developsfrontline retail staff. They foster an environment with a positive andconsistent advice-based client experiencethatassiststhe branch in achieving its goals. Overseeing the daily workflow of the frontline retail operations, they ensure that all established policies and procedures are followed.
The Supervisor, Auto Insurance is also responsible for processing auto insurance policies and a variety of personal lines policies and intricate insurance contracts related to residential homes and personal belongings (at management discretion).

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Assist with internal training of new staff

  • Supervises branch staff

  • Maintain current auto extension book of business

  • Quote new home business policies as required

  • Write Sandbox Mutual Insurance Extension / Got Toys policies

  • Identifies client needs and provides information on varying insurance packages such as risk coverage, benefits and other policy features best suited to meet the client's needs; works with clients to manage and reduce their risk.

  • Recommends and implements a client's insurance coverage, premiums and collects payment

  • Promotes Brio Insurance products and services.

  • Responds to emergencies and assists clients with their claims.

  • Performs administrative duties such as batching, monitoring and ordering of supplies and promotional materials, and end of day balancing.

  • Support the achievement of department and organizational goals as well as actively participates in regular staff meetings.

  • Maintain open communication and cooperation with other staff to ensure a friendly and efficient work environment.

  • Maintain thorough knowledge of and adhere to organizational policies and procedures on risk management, confidentiality, security and fraud prevention.

  • Organize, schedule and monitor client staff activities to ensure that maximum service levels are being provided to clients and that work flows smoothly.

  • Establish performance standards in collaboration with the Managing Partner;evaluate performance of staff;identify training and development needs;participateinand deliver disciplinary actions.

  • Ensure branch is adhering to Audit and compliance requirements.

  • Resolve more complex problems and client complaints referred by staff to ensure the needs of clients and Brio/Interlake Insurance are met.

  • Identify and recommend changes within the department to enhance clientservice and create efficiencies.

  • Identify client needs and promote the appropriate products and services, referring when necessary.

  • Collaborate with the Managing Partner to successfully roll outnewly established organizationalprocedures. Ensure activities conform to policies, procedures, legislation and regulations.

  • Review (randomly) routine staff correspondence with clients to ensure professionalism and accuracy are adhered too.

  • Provide input into the development of and support the achievement of organizational goals.

  • Maintainopen communication and cooperation with other staff toensure a friendlyand efficient work environment.

  • Maintain thorough knowledge ofand adhere tocredit union policies and procedures on risk management, confidentiality,security and fraud prevention. This list is not inclusive and other tasks and/or responsibilities may be assigned by your supervisor.

  • Ensure all MPI KAP duties are adhered too.

  • Ensure adequate MPI inventory is kept on hand.

Essential Qualifications

  • Working towards Level 3 Brokers Insurance License

  • Completed all MPI/Special Risk Extension training courses

  • Solid understanding of MPI Commercial vehicle coverages

  • Demonstrated desire to serve others in a friendly and professional manner

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Attention to detail with high degree of accuracy

  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment and perform well under pressure

  • Ability to prioritize using sound judgment to make timely and effective decisions

  • Knowledge of Brio Insurance products and services

  • Ability to follow standardized policies and procedures

  • Knowledge of risk management within the insurance industry

  • Proficient computer skills

  • Solid working knowledge of EPIC system
