Job description

Position Summary
The Staff Accountant, Financial Reporting will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, supporting reconciliations and audit requests, and partnering closely with senior accounting team members. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career accounting professional looking to build a strong technical foundation and grow within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP, including supporting schedules
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and prepaid analysis as part of the month-end and year-end close process
  • Support preparation of internal and external financial reporting packages, including basic variance analysis
  • Assist with external audit requests by preparing audit schedules, workpapers, and documentation
  • Support research and documentation of technical accounting issues under current ASC guidance, under the guidance of senior team members
  • Assist with SEC reporting requirements, including 10-K and 10-Q filings, if applicable to the organization
  • Support maintenance of internal controls in alignment with SOX requirements
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, tax, and operational teams to ensure accurate financial data
  • Assist with process improvement initiatives to streamline close and reporting cycles

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
  • 0-2 years of accounting experience; public accounting/audit internship or experience preferred
  • CPA candidate (actively pursuing CPA license) preferred
  • Foundational knowledge of US GAAP and financial statement preparation
  • Exposure to SEC reporting and SOX compliance a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS); experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar) a plus
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
