Job description

Overview

We are UMG, the Universal Music Group. We are the worldโ€™s leading music company. In everything we do, we are committed to artistry, innovation and entrepreneurship. We own and operate a broad array of businesses engaged in recorded music, music publishing, merchandising, and audiovisual content in more than 60 countries. We identify and develop recording artists and songwriters, and we produce, distribute and promote the most critically acclaimed and commercially successful music to delight and entertain fans around the world.

How We LEAD: The Manager, Creator Catalog supports creator, influencer, and content marketing initiatives across Capitol Recordsโ€™ Pop/Rock and Urban (Hip-Hop & R&B) catalog artists. This role brings iconic eras, anniversaries, archival moments, reissues, and culturally defining stories to life through strategic, authentic creator partnerships. Working closely with Digital Marketing leadership and crossโ€‘functional teams, the Manager ensures creator content reflects each artistโ€™s legacy while driving discovery and engagement among both longโ€‘standing fans and new generations.

How Youโ€™ll CREATE

Creator, Influencer & Content Strategy โ€“ Lead dayโ€‘toโ€‘day execution of creator and influencer marketing across Pop/Rock and Urban catalog campaigns.

  • Identify and source creators whose content aligns organically with each genreโ€”ranging from nostalgiaโ€‘driven and performanceโ€‘based storytelling in Pop/Rock to culturally rooted commentary, dance, lifestyle, fashion, education, and productionโ€‘focused creators in Urban.
  • Apply genreโ€‘aware thinking when recommending creators, formats, and platformsโ€”recognizing that Pop/Rock and Urban audiences engage with content differently.
  • Recommend creators for key territories when campaigns require international amplification.
  • Support initiatives tied to anniversaries, classic albums, reissues, remasters, box sets, archival releases, and cultural milestones.
Campaign Development & Execution
  • Manage creator sourcing, outreach, briefings, deliverable tracking, approvals, and ongoing communication.
  • Maintain clear, professional communication between creators, internal teams, artist partners, and estates.
  • Activate creator content around key release moments, platform trends, cultural conversations, and genreโ€‘specific cycles.
  • Ensure all creator output aligns with campaign objectives, artist legacy, and broader catalog strategy.
Insights, Data & Optimization
  • Use platform analytics, cultural trends, and genre knowledge to identify creators who feel authentic to each campaign.
  • Track creator performance across platforms and compile insights for internal teams.
  • Identify opportunities to scale highโ€‘performing content or optimize underperforming activations.
  • Incorporate crossโ€‘market insights when evaluating creator effectiveness and reach.
Crossโ€‘Functional Collaboration
  • Collaborate with Catalog and Core label teams across Marketing, Digital, Creative, A&R Research, Production, Revenue, and Commercial to support catalog priorities.
  • Support integration of Capitol Recordsโ€™ broader creator and content networks across Pop/Rock and Urban initiatives.
  • Ensure creator content reinforces artist brand, campaign narrative, and longโ€‘term catalog positioning.
  • Stay aligned with Digital Marketing leadership to ensure execution reflects overall strategy and priorities.
Bring Your VIBE
  • 3+ years of creator or influencer marketing experience within music, digital media, or adjacent cultural spaces.
  • Experience working with Pop/Rock and/or Urban (Hipโ€‘Hop & R&B) creators strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of creator ecosystems, platform trends, and fan behavior across genres.
  • Comfort managing relationships with creators, artist teams, estates, and internal partners.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple catalog campaigns simultaneously.
  • Strategic thinker who understands the balance between paid and organic creator programs.
  • Passion for music history and interest in how legacy content connects with modern and global audiences.
Perks Playlist
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, including 100% coverage for outโ€‘patient inโ€‘network mental health services.
  • Fertility coverage for eligible medical plan participants.
  • Wellbeing reimbursements for fitness classes, spa treatments, meal services, travel, and so much more (up to $720/year).
  • Student loan repayment assistance and tuition reimbursement.
  • 401(k) with 100% immediate vesting on the first 5% of your contributions, plus an additional UMG contribution.
  • Flexible Paid Time Off (PTO) for exempt employees; 3โ€‘weeks PTO for nonโ€‘exempt employees; 2โ€‘weeks paid Winter Break; 10 company holidays (including Juneteenth and Wellbeing Day); Summer Fridays (between Memorial Day and Labor Day); generous paid parental leave for every type of parent.
