Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Audio Video Technician role based in Fairfield, CT. The Audio Video Technician will install, configure, and maintain audio, video, and home automation systems in residential and commercial environments. Daily tasks include mounting and wiring equipment, calibrating sound and video, integrating systems with control interfaces, and performing routine and preventative maintenance. The role also involves diagnosing and resolving technical issues, collaborating with team members and clients to define project requirements, and ensuring clean, safe, and high-quality installations. The technician will provide clear user guidance, document work performed, and uphold VIP Security & Consulting Inc.โ€™s standards for professional, courteous service.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of Audio Visual (AV) Systems and integration across security, entertainment, and home automation environments.
  • Proficiency in Troubleshooting and diagnostics for AV equipment, wiring, networks, and control systems.
  • Experience with Lutron homeWorks, Control4 and hardware, including setup, configuration, and optimization.
  • Hands-on skills working with Lighting systems, Shades, Drapes, and Projectors, including installation, alignment, and calibration.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer documentation.
  • Comfort with tools and equipment used for mounting, cabling, and testing AV systems; adherence to safety practices.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts in clear, accessible language.
  • Reliable transportation to job sites in and around Fairfield, CT, and willingness to work on-site throughout the workweek.
  • Prior experience in AV installation, low-voltage wiring, or a related technical field required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certifications in AV or related disciplines are a plus.
