Job Description:
AV Student Audiovisual Technician
Assist University Audio-Visual Department with AV Setups and Classroom Technology Support.
Candidates must be very team-oriented and have flexible scheduling to work during our normal duty hours of Monday - Friday, 8am -5pm and when necessary for a few hours on some evenings or weekends.
For the most part there are not a lot of afterhours or weekend events requiring AV Services. Weekday events usually finish before 7pm. Weekend events usually only last between 1 to 2 hours. Most of the time you will be assisting with loading a Power point or other media content on a room computer and ensuring the content is displayed on a projector or TV. This type of process usually takes less than 15 minutes! however you are still paid for the entire hour plus overtime.
Most duties include moving and physically setting up speaker systems, projection equipment, and connecting various types of devices to projectors or televisions. Some advanced duties involve making video conference calls/connections with several applications including Cisco, Webex, and Zoom.
The Audio-Visual Tech Work-study position is technical and very much hands on! however no experience is required! We will train you on everything you need to know to succeed in this job.
University AV is a very high visibility department within Information Technology. Most of your daily duties and can be completed in little to no time giving you a lot of time to stay ahead in your studies at our AV student work desk.
If your class schedule and other out of classroom activities are already taking up most of your free time, then University AV will not be a good fit for you.
