RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design systems and layout.
  • Install and service cabling infrastructure and audio / visual devices; includes pre-wiring, installation, termination, testing, reporting, and labelling per specifications / drawings.
  • Install audio / visual equipment, including: audio and video conferencing equipment, distributed audio, digital signage, sound reinforcement, control systems, public announcement systems and all presentation systems.
  • Lead projects at a site level, manage a team of junior technicians as necessary.
  • Complete detailed and accurate paperwork.
  • Interact with customers and prospects, ensuring all inquiries are handled professionally.
  • Ensure that safety and incident reporting procedures are followed while maintaining a high level of safety and professionalism.
  • Other duties as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with keen attention to detail. 
  • Flexibility to work in a variety of environments, from construction sites to finished corporate offices.
  • 3 - 5 years’ experience installing AV Systems preferred but experience from an electrical, mechanical and/or construction environment will be considered.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in the use of relevant tools and equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Valid Driver’s License with clean abstract
  • Must be able to pass a background check

PREFFERED QUALIFICATION:
  • CTS, CTS-I, Extron, Biamp, Crestron, Q-SYS, Poly, and other certifications.
  • Post-secondary education in electronics, electrical, telecommunications, or equivalent would be an asset
PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES:
  • Knowledge of safe and proper use of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to follow instructions, solve practical problems, and take responsibility for assigned tasks with appropriate guidance.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage workload and support effective project delivery.
  • Clear communication skills, including the ability to write simple correspondence and present information in small group or one-on-one settings.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively across diverse teams and customer environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in response to changing priorities, environments, and organizational needs.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, climb, walk, sit, push, pull, squat, crawl, and stoop. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The use of power tools will be required to effectively perform this position. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and may be required to work at heights over 1.8m (6 feet).
