Quantum Sky is searching for a Senior Level Audio-Visual/Multimedia Engineer to join a team of expert engineers and technicians supporting a mission critical high profile government customer.

In this role you'll function as part of a team providing full lifecycle (site surveys, design, installation, and system troubleshooting/maintenance/upgrades) Unified Communications support to include architecture and engineering services, project management, and support services for current and future UC capabilities. Primary services include audio visual, video conferencing, digital signage, internet protocol television, telephony, and chat services.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare operational guides
  • Train Government customers in proper use of AV/MM systems
  • Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of AV/MM systems
  • Provide Tier I (Help Desk) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems
  • Manage the daily activities of configuration and operation of AV/MM systems
  • Provide assistance to users in accessing and using AV/MM systems
  • Document hardware and software configuration management processes and procedures
  • Coordinate hardware installations across multiple sites
  • Maintain and develop the environment for hardware and software product build, staging, testing and integration
  • Apply concepts and define and implement hardware and software configuration management processes and procedures, such as creating product build scripts and procedures, and integrate those scripts with the hardware and software build process
  • Conduct analysis on AVMM systems by ensuring designs are cost efficient, able to be integrated, and reliable
  • Communicate with the other engineering personnel to coordinate the interrelated design and assure project completion
  • Designs, documents, and develops code for programmable devices.
  • Analyze complex hardware systems, hardware design, architecture, network design and other technical hardware issues.
  • Perform testing on equipment.
  • Provide hardware maintenance support, both preventative and remedial.
  • Deploy, install, and implement AVMM at Continental United States (CONUS) and Outside Continental United States (OCONUS).
  • Conduct site surveys
  • Streamline control system interfaces to be fully automated and maximize user experience.
  • Configure control systems, communications devices and peripheral equipment
  • Develop costing proposals for the program manager
  • Perform telecommunications punch block installation and maintenance for serial copper data paths
  • Interpret drawings, specifications, and other related documents.
  • Design a wide variety of AVMM solutions including multi-level security VTC/PC systems, enterprise level VTC and collaboration systems, conference rooms, classrooms, command centers, auditoriums, digital signage, and streaming.
  • Acts as equipment custodian and performs inventory asset management and accountability functions
  • Assist in defining and implementing hardware and software configuration management processes and procedures; such as creating product build scripts and procedures, and integrating those scripts with the hardware and software build process
  • Interpret facility and AVMM drawings from architects and facilities program managers
  • Organize and directs hardware installations across multiple sites
  • Implement hardware and software version control processes, policies and procedures
  • Leads the contractors in the designs of new products and processes and improve and maintain existing products
  • Provide technical leadership to level 1 and level 2 contractor engineers
  • Act as internal consultant providing technical guidance on complex projects
  • Organize and direct hardware installations.
  • Develop AVMM installation schedules based upon equipment delivery, integration complexity, and customer priorities
  • Prepare drawings documenting as-built configurations
  • Organize and direct teams to address critical system failures
Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Four (4) years of additional AV/MM experience in the areas identified above may be substituted for a Bachelor's degree for a total of nine (9) years' experience.
  • Five (5) years' experience in VidCAD or other CAD programs within the past seven (7) years
  • Certification as a Technology Specialist (CTS) and/or CTS-Installation and/or CTS-Design training certification.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience Crestron programming within the last 15 years.
  • Minimum three (3) years' experience in leading other AV/MM Engineers on scheduling, project management, technical consultation, and guidance.
  • Seven (7) years' experience as an AV/MM Engineer in a minimum of 10 skill sets below within the past ten (10) years with at least two (2) areas covering maintenance:

      • Analog, SDI and HD SDI signal processing and conversion
      • Scalable video coding
      • Compression and decompression techniques
      • Encoding/decoding of TV standards such as ATSC, QAM, NTSC, PAL
      •  Signal theory and analysis
      • Audio processing
      • Sound reinforcement and speaker placement
      • Sightlines, screen size and projection distances
      • Integration/use of HID via Crestron DM Switch
      • Cable termination (Fiber, copper, audio, control, etc.)
      • Maintenance of various HD/SD broadcast equipment (switchers, cameras, etc.)
      • Integration of audio and video teleconferencing systems
      • Installation and maintenance of IP based television
      • Operation and set-up of various broadcast production switchers
      • Operation and maintenance of audio mixers
      • Integration of wired/wireless microphone systems and configurations
      • Design, system integration and maintenance of AV/MM systems
      • Multi-classification VTC and PC integration with numerous security mitigation techniques
      • Custom fabrication of parts and cables
      • Installation of low voltage wiring and cable; soldering and termination of connectors; wiring of equipment
