Job description

Job Summary

  • Chicago-based hospitality management company is looking to fill an Audio Visual Sales Manager and Engineer position for two large, multi-purpose venues. Position is responsible for selling A/V production services to corporate and social event clients, increasing department revenue, and contributing to the leadership and execution of the on-site A/V production.

General Duties and Responsibilities

  • Accompany Sales Managers on site visits and final walk throughs with clients to sell production events and to find up-sell opportunities.
  • Coordinate in-house equipment inventory.
  • Request, review, and approve proposals with various vendors for equipment rentals/labor scheduling.
  • Work with the property A/V Managers to plan/diagram equipment required for event productions.
  • Oversee the installation/production/strike of various productions as requested.
  • Approximately 2/3rds of the positions time to be devotes to sales and planning and 1/3 of the positions time to be devoted to supervising event productions.
  • Attend required weekly meetings.

Job Qualifications

  • Education: Associate's degree or some college preferred. High school degree or equivalent required.
  • Experience: 2-3 years experiences in event audio/visual sales preferred, additional experience as an audio engineer (A1) or video engineer (V1) welcomed.
  • Strong background in live sound engineering of bands, corporate events and weddings.

  • Able to troubleshoot audio and video challenges thoroughly and in a timely manner.
  • General knowledge of gear, gear maintenance and gear repair.

Physical Demands

  • Able to lift 50lbs.
  • Able to squat, bend down, work overhead.
  • Able to move a 6’, 10’ and 12’ ladders regularly.
  • Able to walk swiftly.
  • Able to work 10-12 hour shifts, sometimes longer.
