Job description

This role partners across departments to deliver seamless, show-stopping productions while ensuring every system, asset, and detail performs at the highest level. From large-scale live events to daily venue operations, you'll lead the strategy and execution of advanced AV and technical systems that power the VAI experience.
You bring both technical expertise and operational leadership-elevating team performance, optimizing resources, and continuously pushing the boundaries of what's possible in a resort entertainment environment.
What You'll Do
  • Lead the production, operation, and execution of entertainment experiences across all venues-from large-scale events to daily programming
  • Set the standard for technical excellence, ensuring all AV systems and production elements are reliable, innovative, and performance-ready
  • Partner cross-functionally to deliver seamless, integrated experiences that align with VAI's brand and guest expectations
  • Build and manage production timelines, workflows, and execution plans to consistently deliver on time and at scale
  • Oversee AV inventory, equipment maintenance, and resource planning to support all event and venue needs
  • Establish and implement SOPs, technical standards, and operational best practices across the production team
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the AV/Production team, creating a culture of accountability, growth, and high performance
  • Design and implement training programs that advance team capabilities in technical production and emerging AV technologies
  • Ensure all productions meet safety, compliance, and regulatory standards, including life safety and public assembly requirements
  • Collaborate with vendors, partners, and external production teams to deliver world-class results
  • Drive financial performance through event budgeting, cost control, and alignment to pro formas
  • Contribute to the long-term vision and strategy of entertainment production at VAI Resort

What You Bring
  • 7+ years of experience in technical production, AV operations, or entertainment operations within hospitality, live events, or theme park environments
  • 3+ years of leadership experience in arena, venue, or concert operations
  • Proven success managing large-scale events (5,000+ attendees) with complex technical requirements
  • Deep knowledge of AV systems, stage production, rigging, and technical integration
  • Experience with CAD and production design tools
  • Strong understanding of life safety codes, ADA regulations, and public assembly standards
  • Financial acumen, including budgeting, event pro formas, and cost management
  • Hands-on experience with production equipment, lifts, rigging systems, and technical tools
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence across teams
  • High attention to detail with a solutions-oriented, fast-paced mindset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to move throughout the resort and production environments regularly
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed
