ZTransform has a great opportunity for a Senior Design Engineer to join our team. The Senior Design Engineer is a full-time position that performs systems engineering on a breadth of projects across broadcast, corporate media, higher education, and government. These projects commonly involve broadcast and high-end audio-visual technologies in fixed-facilities as well as mobile and temporary technical spaces.


The Senior Design Engineer is a tactical project engineering and technical operations role responsible for the successful execution of systems design, configuration, commissioning, testing, training, and launch support for all projects to which you are assigned. This role will also support in the in-field and remote troubleshooting and remediation of performance issues in client’s technical operations environments as part of our Managed Services operation. The Senior Design Engineer will work closely with the company’s General Manager, Managed Services, project management, integration, finance, and other project engineering resources to complete tasks on projects and other assigned work. This role will also support periodic development of company processes and technical workflow improvements as the company grows.. As a Senior Design Engineer, you must have a strong understanding of legacy, contemporary and emerging technologies, and their practical use to ensure client satisfaction with all deployment systems.   • Be the ZTransform technical design lead and/or a supporting technical team member in the successful execution of broadcast and multimedia design-build and managed services projects. This includes working within and sometimes leading a productive matrixed project environment with team members within and outside of the company, including the client, client’s consultants, and their subcontracted resources.
  • Successfully manage all technical aspects of projects including the pre-design, detailed design, system deployment, testing, configuration management, technical systems training and readiness support for all built environments.
  • Participate in the development and presentation of project change orders and labor utilization models.
  • Become an expert user of all software applications required to perform the role including AutoCAD, MS Word, Excel, Project, Power Point, and Wrike task & resource management software.
  • Establish and foster relationships with client stakeholders, providing timely and concise communication on project status, changes, and escalations.
  • Periodic travel to the project job site, and the potential for extended stays during certain periods, are likely.


Requirements:

· A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a lead or senior systems engineering role in a project based organization.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Visio and Autodesk AutoCAD drafting applications.

· Knowledge of SMPTE standards with an emphasis on ST2110

· Knowledgeable with IT routers, switches, firewalls, VLANs, and related networking standards

· Proficient in current and emerging video compression technologies

· Knowledge and experience with hardware virtualization

· Knowledge of media workflow and asset management systems

· Knowledge of distribution formats and systems including RF, streaming, and satellite

· Knowledge of distributed communications systems

· Experience with, and commitment to documentation change management processes

· Ability to communicate and interact effectively with diverse audiences across different departments

· Ability to work on own initiative and determine priorities

· Excellent organization and communication skills

· Willingness to travel and work overtime, and on weekends with short notice

· Must be willing to submit to a background investigation

· Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States

· Must be 18 years or older with a valid driver’s license

· Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
