Job Summary

Data Center Construction- Project Controls Manager

Relocation Assistance will be provided for Qualified Candidates.

Miller Electric is seeking a Project Controls Manager, you will oversee project teams responsible for cost control, forecasting, change management, scheduling, reporting, and earned value management for various data center construction projects.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions

  • Own the Project Controls Scope of multiple new Data Center construction sites
  • Lead action-oriented weekly and monthly meetings with team members.
  • Maintaining open communication across projects
  • Understanding and communicating client needs to relevant teams
  • Maintain a commitment to organized and accurate documentation
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders by gaining feedback from clients, attending meetings, and submitting update reports
  • Streamlining and communicating project controls processes
  • Developing innovative process improvements
  • Training management staff on project control procedures
  • Ensuring compliance with project control requirements
  • Supervise, lead, and mentor team members
  • Make data driven decisions regarding the Project Controls performance by collecting and analyzing relevant Project Controls statistics
  • Prepare and present reports to update upper management on Project Control activities
  • Evaluate and incorporate lessons learned from all sites to help enhance current and future Data Center Construction success
Qualifications

Education & Experience

REQUIRED

  • 5+ years of Construction Project Controls experience on large commercial projects
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, including Project Management, Construction Management, Business, Engineering, etc., paired with industry experience OR an overall appropriate combination of certification(s), experience, and education
  • Commitment to continuous improvement of communication, organization and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to establish effective relationships with customers, GCs, owners, and office personnel
  • Ability to budget time appropriately
  • Confidence to proactively request support or deadline adjustment when completing tasks
  • Ability to work calmly under deadlines and external pressure
  • Knowledge of AIA billings and forms
  • Excellent math skills
  • Primavera P6 Experience
  • Strong computer skills and quick to learn new systems
  • Effective scheduling and delegation to accomplish tasks on time
  • Tactful conflict resolution and problem solving abilities

PREFERRED

  • Mission Critical Project experience
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or PMI-Scheduling Professional (SP)
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite, COINs, Primavera P6, and ConEst
