Job description

At CGI, we design, engineer, install, and maintain large-scale Audio/Video systems. We put our customer first, and demand only the best. We are looking for those that share our passion. We currently have an immediate opening for an A/V Systems Drafter.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Perform project related documents in CAD, Revit, or any other project required documentation under direct supervision of senior engineers or project managers
  • Assist with CAD and Revit related tasks as required to include creating project drawing packages, documents, and file management, assist in maintaining CAD standards, block libraries, Revit families, sheet sets, and publishing and plotting of drawing packages
  • Prepare A/V construction drawings to include floor plans, RCP's, room details, mounting details, construction details, riser diagrams, functional diagrams, charts and indexes, and others as needed
  • Prepare A/V supplemental submittal packages such as product data or operating manuals
  • Provide structural, BIM, MEP, and Life Safety coordination
  • Follow project scope of work documents as part of a project contract

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Must be fluent in Autodesk applications in the Architecture, Engineering & Construction family of software
  • Engineering degree with CAD/BIM expertise preferred
  • Experience with other drafting software such as Sketch Up and other 3D computer design programs preferred
  • Experience with A/V systems or construction field preferred
  • Knowledgeable of Xref, Batch Plotting, Dimstyle, Scaling, Block Manager, Sheet Set Manager, and Dynamic blocks
  • Though understanding of the Architectural Drawing packages and AV industry drafting standards
  • At least 1-3 years' experience construction drafting and 3D modeling
  • CTS Preferred

COMPENTENCIES:

  • Ability to create project drawings packages to support the proposal and implementation phases of projects and sales opportunities. Must be able to multi-task, be organized and manage acute timelines. May be required to solve technical problems of a complex nature for projects. Follow appropriate policies, procedures and standards of the company and the industry
  • Must be capable of understanding project, engineering, producing drawings, and other documents with minimal assistance.
  • Consistently complete work in a timely manner with a high level of quality without errors
  • Have a good work ethic and attitude in a highly dynamic work environment

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • May require 5-20% travel
