Job description

Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Technician – Entertainment AV is to skillfully operate all AV Systems and equipment. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures. This is a safety–related position.         

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Maintain assigned operational functions within the department consistent with the department policies and procedures.
  • Operate all equipment consistent with the company’s core service standards and brand attributes.
  • Provide ongoing maintenance tasks within areas of operation while adhering to strict operational guidelines set forth by department management. Creates a work environment that promotes teamwork, recognition, mutual respect and employee satisfaction.
  • Provide ideas and suggestions for new products, services, technology and processes to ensure The Venetian Resort’s competitive position and in anticipation of changing customer needs within the dynamic hospitality and gaming environment.
  • Adhere to the department’s strict operating guidelines while maintaining a positive attitude in a consistently changing environment.
  • Assess, evaluate and review technical operation for the purposes of organizing the repair or troubleshooting of potential repair, and/or providing direction on work, tasks or processes in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Arrange timeline to complete tasks and department assignments or projects, and meet the deadlines related to those assignments.
  • Evaluate information to render an opinion or take action based on that information that will impact the department or function.
  • Possess skills to hasten resolution, assess course of action, and implement or take action based upon findings.
  • Direct others in completion of a task or assignment.
  • Render advice, and provide expertise or judgment based on information gathered, studied, analyzed or reviewed.
  • Safety is an essential function of this job.
  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • High school diploma.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain any other certification or license, as required by law or policy.
  • 1 year of experience with audio visual and equipment.
  • Working knowledge of Computer based image projection in a Hospitality/Meeting room environment.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements:

Must be able to:

  • Lift or carry 30 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
  • Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
  • Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
  • Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel.
  •  Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
  • Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
