Kentucky Educational Television, (KET) has the following full-time position opening in Lexington, Kentucky:
Audio Technician

Used by more than two million people each week, KET is Kentucky’s only statewide media organization, and broadcasts into 8 states and 10 media markets, along with providing live and on-demand streaming services. In addition to offering high-quality PBS programming, KET annually produces hundreds of hours of award-winning local productions and creates nationally recognized educational resources.
This is a unique opportunity to work with an outstanding, respected, and trusted public media team, and to support a wide variety of public affairs and general productions, including Kentucky’s only nightly statewide news program, six locally produced series, and ongoing special programs.
KET’s facilities are located in beautiful “horse country” with a thriving community that offers affordable living, outstanding educational opportunities, and world class sporting events. Our ideal Candidate will:
Operate audio systems to create high quality programs for broadcast and digital platforms.
Under the direction of Producers, Associate Producers, and Directors, provide audio recording services to enhance programs, including offering expertise related to microphone selection and placement, sound monitoring and mixing, and video/audio sync.
Act as an audio board operator on live and recorded studio multi-camera productions. Operate field sound mixer/recorder for field productions including capturing isolated microphones from multicam interviews both in camera and in mixer, as well as capturing high quality audio for b-roll.
Act as a grip and lighting assistant as required for studio and field productions. Drive and help clean production vehicles as needed.
Operate professional studio and field cameras for live and recorded productions, as needed.
Work, with direction from Producers, Directors and Associate Producers, to accomplish KET production goals. Contribute to and execute the creative and editorial vision of KET productions.
Successful applicants will have the following minimum qualifications, skills, and experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Broadcasting or Audio Production, with at least two (2) years of professional audio-recording experience obtained in educational or work setting. Practical experience in the operation of audio operation and recording systems may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
Able to move/lift/carry equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.  Occasionally required to operate equipment while standing/sitting for extended periods of time. 
Must be able to work in a deadline-driven environment in an efficient, creative, and positive manner.
Must have strong computer, oral communications, and professional interpersonal skills.
Must be available on a flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and overnight travel.   
Must maintain a professional demeanor and appearance at all times.
