The Role
Experienced AV and network system designer wanted for position of Sales Designer. We are looking for a detail oriented, enthusiastic sales designer to join one of the elite AV companies of the south east. This role as a part of CAV Integrated Home's design team will place you in a position to design and quote system upgrades for new and existing clients.
Responsibilities include quoting, client meetings, jobsite walkthroughs, existing system analysis, liaison with general contractors and trades, and installation documentation production.
โ€ข Required: Extensive knowledge of AV and network systems.
โ€ข Required: Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
โ€ข Required: Experience with quoting, residential construction, and customer relations/sales.
โ€ข Required: Understanding of AV interconnections, computer networking (LAN and WIFI), control system programming, surround sound/stereo system design, and AV installation methods.
โ€ข Required: Good driving record.
โ€ข Required: Minimum 3+ years' experience in the AV installation industry.
โ€ข Experience as an installation technician and/or service technician a plus.
โ€ข Knowledge of home integration products, lighting control systems, video distribution systems, remote access systems, home theater, custom installation products, projection systems, acoustic treatment systems, motorized shading systems, project management, and/or logistics a plus.
โ€ข Industry certification from CEDIA, Infocomm, ISF or similar a plus.

The key skills and qualities of an Audio Video System Designer:
  • Strong technical, communication and computer skills; certifications from CEDIA and Infocomm are a welcome bonus, as well as lighting control and shade experience.
  • Previous experience as Audio/video Lead technician or A/V Home Automation technician.
  • Knowledge of LAN and wireless LAN (WIFI) configuration for Class A/small to medium/residential networks; and experience installing network hardware and terminating network cabling.
  • Basic skills of computer operation; universal remote programming; audio distribution; and video distribution knowledge
  • Knowledge of Visio and CAD an advantage
  • A high level of interpersonal ability - patience and customer service skills a must, as is the ability to form meaningful and fruitful relationships with both customers and employees
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and experienced working with power tools
  • A good driving record is necessary.
