Job description

Foley Equipment is the authorized Caterpillar dealer in Kansas and NW Missouri.
Our AES Field Service Engineer will be responsible for startups, emergency repairs, modifications, testing, retrofits, modernizations, upgrades and warranty on electrical power distribution, control and switchgear. We are looking for a qualified experienced Field Service Engineer to join our Advanced Electrical Services Team at Foley Power Solutions.
Hourly Base Rate: $33.82 - $63.63 / hour

Responsibilities:
  • Deep understanding of electrical safety and procedures related to Advanced Electrical services work.
  • Clear understanding of NFPA70E, NEC, OSHA & safety policies and guidelines.
  • Great Communication skills and the ability to speak technically to customers, peers & leadership related to work & projects.
  • Troubleshooting of ATS's, switchgear, PLC's, protective relays, circuit breakers , isochronous governing systems, and generator control systems.
  • Inspections, Testing & repair on control systems and switchboards.
  • Perform startups, commissioning, engineering, troubleshooting on switchgear.
  • Understanding of MOP's, SOP's, SOO's and electrical drawings.
  • Capability to integrate BMS & Scada systems utilizing standard protocols such as BACnet, Modbus & etc.
  • Travel is required for training and/or to assist at other locations.

Physical & Working Requirements
  • This role involves hands-on mechanical work in a shop environment. The employee must be able to perform essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodation. These functions may include:
  • Safely and repeatedly lifting components weighing up to 115 pounds without assistance
  • Safely lifting, carrying, and lowering components weighing up to 65 pounds without assistance
  • Frequent pushing, pulling, and carrying of heavy materials
  • Climbing on and off equipment and working at varying heights
  • Standing, bending, and working in physically demanding positions for extended periods
  • Safely operating tools and equipment

Our Ideal Candidate:
  • 3+ years in Field Service Engineering is desired
  • Electrical Engineering (BS or AS preferred ) experience and / or military service performing job duties
  • Diesel and or gas power generation related controls experience
  • Experience with programming PLC's & HMI's & data collection devices (SCADA / BMS systems )
  • Strong background in electrical power systems to include switchgear and controls
  • AC/DC voltage trouble shooting skills related to power generation ( Generators, switchgear & ATS's )
  • Reading schematics and prints and control automation drawings
  • Experience with diagnostic software
  • Industry knowledge of NFPA, OSHA, ANSI/NETA and UL
