The Audio Specialist is responsible for being a technical expert and resource to the project managers and clients in the latest wireless technology and audio networking. You provide support regarding the design, logistics, and execution of audio projects.
Your day will look like this:
  • Act as a technical expert on all the professional audio equipment with an emphasis on com systems, wireless technology and audio networking.
  • Oversee & execute the build of intricate control racks and RF systems
  • Occasionally consult on RFP/RFQ submissions
  • Propose solutions to audio projects that fit within the scope of Solotech standards
  • Complete lists of preparations in the inventory database (R2) with the coordinators
  • Oversee & execute quality control for wireless systems and associated products.
  • Oversee & consult with production technicians on preparation of events in the warehouse
  • Share knowledge with production technicians as they start work on events
  • Act as a consultant and technical support for pre-productions events; remote troubleshooting and on event sites
  • Perform integration, programming and configuration of the equipment: mixers, recording systems processors, computers, etc.
  • Occasionally make ready all aspects of audio systems prior to client's arrival
  • Train the staff and clients as required

Your profile:
Education:
  • Highschool diploma or GED
  • Diploma specialized studies in sound, digital or audio or any deemed relevant training an asset

Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience working in the field of live sound, engineering, production
  • Experience in drafting programs an asset
  • Experience in a rental equipment company

Knowledge:
  • Knowledge of the R2 inventory software (an asset)
  • Good knowledge of Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Strong knowledge base in com systems, wireless technology and audio networking
