Show Tech Audio 1-4 | Join EventEQ's Touring and Live Events Team
Location: Columbia, MD
Schedule: Full Time | Event Based
Pay: $20.00 - $47.50/hr based on experience and qualifications
EventEQ is seeking Show Tech Audio 1-4 professionals to support touring productions and live events. This role is focused on field execution, working directly on shows, traveling to venues, setting up professional audio systems, and delivering exceptional client experiences. If you thrive in fast paced, high energy environments and enjoy live production, this is an opportunity to join a strong and collaborative production team.
What You'll Be Doing
  • Focus on touring and live event audio execution from prep through strike
  • Review schedules, contracts, show sheets, and documentation to prepare for events
  • Plan audio system needs and communicate pull lists for each show
  • Assist with warehouse prep including pulling, testing, racking, and troubleshooting equipment
  • Travel to venues and assess power, space, and setup requirements
  • Receive, inspect, and verify equipment against manifests
  • Set up, tune, and operate audio systems during live events
  • Serve as Lead Show Technician, team member, or work independently as assigned
  • Communicate directly with clients and represent EventEQ professionally on site
  • Direct technicians and freelance labor to meet timelines and quality standards
  • Document hours, equipment usage, and issues in show reports
  • Protect and secure equipment during events and downtime
  • Strike, pack, and load equipment for transport following shows
  • Troubleshoot technical issues quickly in high pressure environments
  • Maintain current knowledge of audio technology and attend training as needed

What We're Looking For
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Five years of A/V industry experience with an emphasis in audio
  • Experience in live event or touring audio production based on technician level 1-4
  • Ability to travel internationally with a valid passport
  • Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and travel
  • Strong understanding of professional audio systems and signal flow
  • Excellent client service and communication skills
  • Detail oriented with strong troubleshooting abilities
