Primary Responsibilites:

  • Operateย audio consoles, mixers, microphones, intercom systems, and related broadcast audio equipment during live and recorded productions.ย ย 

  • Monitorย and adjust audio levels to ensure clear, balanced, and high-quality sound for broadcasts.ย ย 

  • Setย up, test, and troubleshoot microphones, audio feeds, recording equipment, and signal routing systems.ย ย 

  • Coordinateย with producers, directors, technical staff, and on-air talent to support production requirements.ย ย 

  • Performย audio checks and equipment testing before broadcasts, recordings, and remote productions.ย ย 

  • Monitorย incoming and outgoing audio signals toย identifyย and correct technical issues.ย ย 

  • Record, edit, and manage audio content asย requiredย for broadcast and digital platforms.ย ย 

  • Assistย with the maintenance, inventory, and repair coordination of audio equipment and systems.ย 

  • Applies sound production techniques to program elements and integrates them into a complete, professional productionย ย 

  • Performs technical functions related to studio control room operation in the production and broadcast of service programs, including audio controlย 

  • Logs and conducts data entry and other functions connected with VOAโ€™s digital asset management systemย ย 

  • Stays abreast of the latest/new technologyย ย 

  • Researches, gathers, and logs video and audio feedsย ย 
  • Operates computersย ย 

  • Completes tasks accurately and independently prior to deadline, in according with editorial and production prioritiesย ย 

  • Functions as effective member of a teamย ย 

  • May serve as a team leader, assigning work and coaching team members and reporting to management on their performanceย ย
