Position Overview

The Sales Planning and Reporting Specialist plays a key role in providing the sales team with a deep understanding of market trends and competitive factors to support our short and long-term planning..  The role is responsible for centralizing key national initiatives, the development of national reporting/KPI development, supporting the development of action plans to ensure all models achieve their sales/inventory objective.  As Audi Canada grows its business, this role is vital to have a strong understanding of market conditions to ensure proper strategic planning, leading to proper allocation of product to meet market demand.. This role is also responsible to coordinate the the long-term planning initiatives with AUDI AG, which includes creating and growing a network of market data from internal and third party sources. This role is also responsible for managing GHG and ZEV mandates to ensure planning meets credit/malus objective balance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Construct a monthly 3 month strategy to ensure effectiveness and optimization of the annual sales plan
  • Insights on carline performance, stock levels, aging
  • Regional trends and recommendations
  • Effectiveness of competitive sales and opportunities
  • Overlay health of marketing funnel for discerning gaps and opportunities for awareness, consideration and transaction
    • Take a lead in presenting the gaps to the operation and marketing teams, making recommendations
  • Industry Analysis
    • Detailed analysis of the Volkswagen Group sales forecast & Canadian third party forecasts to determine risk and opportunity in the marketplace as it relates to long term production planning
    • Develop and maintain a Seasonally Adjusted Annualized Rate (SAAR) for the import high group in Canada.  
    • Collect, distribute and store all sales data and information to ensure readily available for review and use in future analysis.
    • Support annual plan leveraging market reporting and maintaining carline level market share as the plan adjusts.
  • Long-term Planning
    • Overall lead for long-term planning. Contruct and design segment opportunity using market forecast, pricing, product premise, economic trends, CO2 compliance and competitive analysis.
    • Make recommendations to sales leadership, Audi Canada Management Team, and AUDI AG for growth and opportunity.
    • Work closely with Audi of America, Volkswagen Canada and others to build scenarios for new platforms.
    • Support scenario change plans based on market changes
    • Working with other key stakeholders (Product, Audi AG, Sales Dept), to support the development of our  long-term sales plans utilizing key tools and programming within the sales department
    • Construct Business Review meetings with AUDI AG, making insight-based recommendations to grow volume and profit in the Canadian market.
    • Align and prepare all volume planning and reporting with Group forecasts by segment.
    • Incorporate AUDI AG input and premise guidance into all volumes planning 
  • Support in presenting the plan and gaining approval to the management team for Audi Canada as well as to North America Region
  • Work closely with short-term planning on C02 compliance planning for short and long-term
  • Develop and continually enhance efficiency of reporting, presentation and reporting templates by establishing repeatable and interchangeable formats.
  • Liaise with industry representatives such as DesRosiers, Autodata, AIAMC, ALG, POLK, Maritz, GFK and Canadian Blackbook to acquire required data inputs for preparation of programs, reports, and/or presentations.
  • Support various projects within the organization
  • Manage, improve and distribute the following reports on time:
    • All Audi monthly sales reports, including monthly information exchange with AIAMC
    • Monthly market sales and segmentation reports
    • Monthly business review presentations
    • Monthly importation reports
  • Support reporting strategy to enhance automation and the usage of new tools
Qualifications

Formal Education

  • Associate Degree / College Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, or similiar field and/or equivalent working experience

Experience

  • 2+ years of Marketing & Sales experience

Salary range is dependent on factors such as industry-based experience, skills, training, credentials, and other qualifications. The salary range for this role is $65,000-$80,000, actual pay may vary based on experience, education, and internal compensation practices.
