Job description

We are seeking a senior Technical Lead within Workplace Technology to provide expert-level leadership across a broad set of platforms and capabilities. This role is responsible for driving the direction, evaluation, selection, configuration, implementation, and integration of both new and existing technologies.

As a key technical authority, you will lead complex design and delivery efforts, guide solution architecture decisions, and ensure the viability and quality of IT deliverables. You will operate across multiple teams, influencing technical strategy, mentoring engineers, and partnering with stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and resilient solutions that support Workplace objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides senior-level IT technical leadership and direction for complex software, middleware, and hardware initiatives across multiple platforms; delivers hands-on expertise in design, development, implementation, architecture, and ongoing maintenance.

  • Ensures the viability and quality of IT deliverables by recommending development and architectural approaches, approving technical outputs, and overseeing testing across functionality, performance, and security; supports production systems as needed.

  • Evaluates and approves technical solutions, resolving complex issues and guiding teams through root cause analysis and remediation; proactively anticipates and mitigates risks, preventing issues before they impact delivery.

  • Partners with stakeholders to communicate project implications, assess the impact of changes, and influence technical and architectural decisions across teams.

  • Maintains deep knowledge of development methodologies, architecture, and emerging technologies; mentors team members, drives adoption of standards and best practices, and contributes to strategic product roadmaps.

  • Reviews and approves technical documentation, ensuring clarity, completeness, and alignment with established standards.

  • Identifies and drives continuous improvement opportunities across technical standards, tools, and delivery methodologies.

  • Contributes hands-on to development activities, producing well-structured, maintainable code supported by automated testing and modern development practices.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience, including 5+ years of hands-on development.

  • Strong proficiency in Java and Python.

  • Experience designing and building cloud-native solutions on AWS.

  • Experience with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and distributed systems.

  • Familiarity with event-driven architectures (Kafka or similar).

  • Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and production support capabilities.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with GraphQL Supergraph / federation architectures.

  • Experience modernizing legacy Java/JSF applications.

  • Familiarity with domain-driven design (DDD).

  • Experience supporting enterprise platform modernization initiatives.

  • Knowledge of Workplace Technology ecosystems and tools.
