Job description

Position Purpose

To support Vaughn's Flight program by offering simulator instruction in the flight simulator Lab.

Major Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks

  • Complete and store paperwork as required.
  • Working with academic staff of the Aviation department to ensure that proper coursework is completed correctly.
  • Working with instructors to ensure flight program scenarios are scheduled.
  • Training new staff on use of simulators
  • Assist Flight Instructors as required.

Education and/or Experience Requirements

Enrolled/Graduated Vaughn students from the B.S. Aircraft Operations Degree Program or CFII Instructors from our FAA approved Part 141 Pilot School or students that graduated from an FAA Institution of Higher Education that received authorization from the FAA to certify it graduates for an airline transport pilot (ATP) certificate with reduced aeronautical experience.

  • Ability to assist students in the Flight Lab.
  • Must have an FAA CFI-A rating to instruct scenarios for Private Pilot Students.
  • Must have an FAA CFI-I rating to instruct scenarios for both Instrument and Commercial Students.
  • Ability to work with instructors, students, and college administration to meet the standard requirements of the BS Aircraft Operations Degree Program

Work environment and physical functions

This position is located in an laboratory environment. Generally, an employee needs to be able to sit, stand, and navigate within the office area. The lab equipment either individually used or shared with a department is the responsibility of all employees.
