Atm Loader information

What are ATM Loaders and what do they do?

ATM Loaders are security professionals responsible for replenishing cash in Automated Teller Machines (ATMs). Their primary duties include transporting cash to ATM locations, accurately loading cash into machines, balancing ATM funds, and ensuring security protocols are followed to prevent theft or loss. ATM Loaders may work for banks or specialized cash-in-transit companies and are often required to work in teams for added security. Attention to detail and strict adherence to safety procedures are essential in this role.

What are some common challenges faced by ATM Loaders, and how are they addressed on the job?

ATM Loaders often face challenges such as strict adherence to security protocols, working under tight schedules, and handling large amounts of cash accurately. To address these, companies provide thorough training on security procedures, utilize team-based approaches to cash handling, and implement detailed checklists to minimize errors. Working closely with security personnel and following established routes also helps ensure both safety and efficiency during cash replenishment tasks.

Both Atm Loaders and Cash Handlers work with cash in banking and retail environments. While Atm Loaders primarily focus on refilling and maintaining ATMs, Cash Handlers manage cash in various settings, including bank branches and retail stores. The roles overlap in cash handling skills and industry usage, but Atm Loaders are more specialized in ATM servicing tasks.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an ATM Loader, and why are they important?

To thrive as an ATM Loader, you need attention to detail, a strong sense of responsibility, and typically a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with security protocols, cash handling procedures, and sometimes the use of handheld tracking devices or inventory management systems is required. Integrity, reliability, and effective communication are critical soft skills for this role. These competencies ensure the secure, accurate, and efficient replenishment of ATMs, which is vital for both customer satisfaction and minimizing financial risk.

Position Summary:
The Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring, and supporting the organization's enterprise network infrastructure - across on-premises environments and Azure cloud connectivity. This includes LAN/WAN architecture, wireless networks, SD-WAN, Azure routing, ATM connectivity, and video surveillance systems.
This position ensures consistent network reliability, uptime, and performance while maintaining strong relationships with key vendors. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and accountable for ensuring all networked systems - including ATMs and video infrastructure - operate securely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Network Infrastructure Management
  • Deploy, configure, and maintain Core and Edge networks across corporate and branch environments.
  • Manage and optimize Enterprise Wireless infrastructure, including access points, and Radius authentication.
  • Configure and maintain core routers and firewalls, including routing, NAT, and access control policies.
  • Ensure configuration versioning and regular backups for all routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Oversee WAN circuit provisioning, monitoring, and vendor escalation to ensure performance and redundancy.
  • Manage Enterprise SD-WAN systems for efficient branch connectivity and traffic optimization.
Azure Network Architecture
  • Design, implement, and maintain Azure network infrastructure, including VNets, subnets, route tables, and Network Security Groups (NSGs).
  • Configure and support ExpressRoute, site-to-site, or private peering connections between on-prem and Azure environments.
  • Develop routing strategies and segmentation models for hybrid network topologies.
  • Partner with cloud and security teams to optimize Azure Firewall, Load Balancer, and Application Gateway configurations.
  • Document and maintain Azure network diagrams, architecture standards, and routing policies.
ATM Network Management
  • Serve as the primary owner for all ATM network connectivity, hardware, and vendor coordination.
  • Manage vendor and carrier relationships to ensure ATM network reliability, SLAs, and uptime objectives are met.
  • Continuously monitor ATM network performance, latency, and connectivity health.
  • Verify that ATM communication modules, network routers, and circuits remain fully operational.
  • Coordinate and verify hardware maintenance, firmware upgrades, and configuration changes.
Video and Surveillance Systems
  • Own and manage the CCTV video system, including NVR servers, switches, cameras and connectivity.
  • Act as the primary contact for surveillance vendors, overseeing escalations, service calls, and equipment life cycles.
  • Perform routine video system health checks, ensuring camera functionality, recording status, video quality and storage integrity.
  • Coordinate with physical security teams for deployment planning, upgrades, and maintenance.
Network Services & Systems
  • Administer and troubleshoot DHCP, DNS, and Radius authentication systems.
  • Implement and maintain 802.1X network access control (NAC) across wired and wireless environments, ensuring only authorized devices gain network access.
  • Support secure onboarding for corporate and IoT devices using Radius policies and certificate-based authentication.
  • Manage UPS, PDU, and management systems to ensure power reliability and environmental visibility across network infrastructure.
Monitoring & Performance
  • Utilize PRTG Network Monitor for proactive monitoring, performance analysis, and alert response across all infrastructure and cloud resources.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and alerting systems to identify and resolve issues before they impact operations.
  • Conduct capacity planning and trend analysis to ensure optimal network performance.
  • Educate and instruct system and security engineers on the capabilities of the monitoring systems.
  • Continually evaluate the system and offer suggestions for additional monitoring needs.
Documentation & Compliance
  • Maintain comprehensive network diagrams, inventories, and configuration documentation.
  • Champion Change management and ticketing processes for the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with internal IT standards, audit requirements, and industry security frameworks.
  • Participate in disaster recovery testing, documentation, and network resiliency planning.
Qualifications:
Required:
  • 5+ years of experience in enterprise network engineering or administration.
  • Strong hands-on experience with corporate networking technologies (Wireless, switching, SDWAN, routing and firewalls)
  • Proven experience managing vendor relationships.
  • Proficiency with Azure networking, including VNets, routing, ExpressRoute, NSGs, and hybrid architectures.
  • Experience implementing and managing 802.1X authentication and Radius-based access control.

  • Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
Preferred:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Certifications such as Extreme Networks Specialist, Aruba ACMP, Silver Peak SD-WAN Professional, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate.
  • Experience working in financial institutions or other regulated environments supporting ATMs and video systems.
Competencies:
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability for network uptime and reliability.
  • Deep understanding of hybrid (on-prem + Azure) network architecture.
  • Skilled at vendor management and driving issue resolution through to completion.
  • Excellent documentation discipline and attention to detail.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work across infrastructure, cloud, and security teams.
