JOB SUMMARY: The National OTR - Tractor Trailer Driver at GardaWorld is instrumental in ensuring the safe and secure transportation of valuable goods between diverse customer locations. This critical role encompasses not only expert vehicle operation but also strict adherence to safety protocols to protect both GardaWorld's assets and those of our customers. The driver is responsible for maintaining control over GardaWorld's fleet vehicles during transit, ensuring each delivery and pick-up is executed with precision and security.
Competitive Compensation Package including:

  1. Base Mileage Pay:
    1. $0.50 per mile driven for Over-The-Road work.
    2. $25 per hour for local work within city limits.
  1. OTR Accessorial Pay:
    1. Layover Pay: $100 per day if the driver incurs wait time of more than 24 hours.
    2. Detention Pay: $20 per hour after 2 hours of waiting.
    3. Stop Pay: $30 per additional stop following the first.
  1. Bonuses:
    1. Safety Bonus: $0.01 per mile for no accidents/incidents per quarter.
    2. Performance Bonus: $0.02 per mile for meeting delivery schedules
  1. Per Diem:
    1. $60 per day for meals and incidental expenses.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Maintain the safety, security, and control of the tractor trailer unit at all times.
  • Ensure the safe and secure loading and offloading of the tractor trailer.
  • Ensure safe loading and unloading of the tractor trailer.
  • Report all vehicle issues and day's activities to leadership, complete driving documentation.
  • Manage overall cleanliness and readiness of the vehicle.
  • Comply with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, traffic laws, and safety guidelines.
  • Cross-train and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Perform pre- and post-trip inspections as per company and DOT standards.
  • Operate assigned equipment safely in accordance with the company, Department of Transportation, and OSHA safety programs and rules including cab computers, CB radios, phones, and GPS.
  • Cross-train and perform other duties as needed to support team efficiency.
  • Willingly spend multiple nights per week on the road, work additional hours, and occasionally on Saturdays to meet business needs.
  • Must comply with HOS standards.
  • Perform other related duties as needed or assigned.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications:
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of one year of Tractor Trailer / OTR driving experience.
  • An Interstate (Class A) Commercial Driver's License with Hazmat endorsement or willingness to obtain within 120 days of hire.
  • Meet all DOT, local, state, and federal requirements.
  • Valid firearms permit or ability to meet licensing requirements.
  • Valid guard card or ability to obtain as required.
  • No more than two moving violations in the last three years; no major violations in the last three years.
  • No DUI, DWI, OUI, or reckless driving involving alcohol/drugs convictions within the last ten years.
  • Have unrestricted full range of motion including the ability to bend, stoop, squat, stand, walk, climb, twist, turn and reach out.
  • Able to lift heavy items (50lbs+) and carry items by hand in an unrestricted manner covering significant distances at times.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Extensive OTR long distance driving experience, preferably in a high-value goods transport environment.
  • Experience in servicing a diverse customer base with sensitive requirements, including time-sensitive and high-value cargo.
  • Strongly preferred experience in operating manual transmission (stick shift) vehicles.

  • Demonstrated integrity and professionalism.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a high-stress environment.
