JOB TITLE:

Logistics Lead

JOB SUMMARY:

The Logistics Lead will be responsible for all equipment rentals; equipment moves, and 3rd party broker hiring at Atlas Crane.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (including but not limited to):

  • Partner with Operations and Sales to plan crane schedules and equipment needs.
  • Coordinate equipment mobilizations and demobilizations with Field Operations.
  • Manage third-party rental equipment, transportation carriers, and ancillary vendors.
  • Develop and maintain a strong carrier and vendor network to support transportation and rental needs.
  • Partner with Dispatch to support permit procurement when required.
  • Ensure proper system entry (VD), licensing, and DOT compliance for new equipment.
  • Create and manage purchase orders in NetSuite; review and reconcile vendor invoices.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and service agreements with carriers and suppliers.
  • Manage transportation and rental budgets to support job profitability.
  • Monitor vendor performance and implement cost-saving and process improvement initiatives.
  • Provide reporting and analysis on transportation and rental spend to leadership.

EDUCATIONAL AND PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE:

Bachelors Degree in operations management, construction, or transportation/logistics related field, preferred. (Tenure in similar position may be considered in lieu of educational preferences.)

  • 4-6 years of experience in mobile crane, construction or transportation related field, managing fleets.
  • Special training and knowledge of US DOT and OSHA regulations.

SPECIAL SKILLS/ ABILITIES REQUIRED AND PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE:

Strong oral communication skills necessary to communicate over the telephone and in-person with all company personnel, clients and suppliers.

  • Physical and mental ability to work in an environment with rapid business growth and pressure due to business demands.
  • Outstanding verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong conflict resolution and critical-thinking skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking abilities while dealing with continuous interruptions.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Some physical effort required. Must be able to tolerate extended periods of sitting or standing; frequent use of a computer and cell phone and have the ability to communicate and hear effectively.

  • The employee is often required to stand and walk safely in the office and at job sites, reach with hands, arms and stoop and bend and lift/carry up to 30 lbs.
  • Flow of work and character of duties involves normal visual and mental attention.
  • Duties require willingness to work a flexible schedule and/or weekends.
