Job description

Fabrication Machine Operator - 1st Shift - $20.00/hour

Who we are looking for:

We are currently searching for a Fabrication Machine Operator to be based out of Cartersville, GA. Reporting to the Fabrication Supervisor, this person will be responsible for performing necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation on multiple pieces of equipment, as well as operating/monitoring multiple pieces of equipment during operation to ensure quality production and minimal unplanned stops.

Experience in lean manufacturing or business system-based company is desired.

What you’ll do:
Fabrication Machine Operator’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Actively participate in Atkore’s safety program
  • Cross train in different areas of the shop as required
  • Ensure all processes are carried out with the required use of safety controls and PPE
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized work and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus
  • Perform necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation on multiple pieces of equipment
  • Operate/monitor multiple pieces of equipment during operation to ensure quality production and minimal unplanned stops
  • Communicate with team members and support teams to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials
  • Housekeeping and sanitation

What you’ll bring:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent (preferred)
  • Ability to stand and work a 10-hour shift in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment
  • Must be willing to work overtime as needed

  • Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work involves frequent lifting of materials and product up to 50 pounds. The manufacturing plant is not climate controlled. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, and safety work shoes. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay for this position is $20.00/hour. Placement in the range depends on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs and may change over time. Other compensation may include, but not limited to, overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, stock, and other incentives.
