Job description

Job Title Hybrid Powertrain OBD Subsystem Engineer Overview We are seeking a Hybrid Powertrain OBD Subsystem Engineer to support the development, validation, and maintenance of on-board diagnostic (OBD) solutions for hybrid powertrain technologies. This role focuses on diagnostic software development, system validation, data analysis, and collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams to meet global diagnostic regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities Develop, validate, and maintain on-board diagnostic (OBD) solutions for hybrid propulsion technologies. Support requirements analysis and validation using Simulink-based signal processing algorithms. Perform and oversee HIL, on-road, and dynamometer data collection to calibrate and validate diagnostic monitoring and sensor performance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on the design, development, and validation of engine diagnostic software. Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve software and calibration-related OBD issues. Develop scripts using MATLAB, Python, or other scripting languages to analyze diagnostic behavior and support calibration activities. Prepare calibration guides, regulatory documentation, and technical documentation. Analyze diagnostic data and support software testing and validation activities. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Control Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. 2+ years of experience in automotive product development, preferably in hybrid propulsion diagnostics. 2+ years of experience reviewing or analyzing C/C++, MATLAB, or Simulink code. Working knowledge of hybrid propulsion systems, engine diagnostics, and calibration. 2+ years of experience with: Data acquisition (ATI Vision preferred) Software testing Data analysis Calibration Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Familiarity with Jira. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Control Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Knowledge of vehicle powertrain systems and diagnostic protocols. Understanding of OBD standards and regulations. Experience applying Systems Engineering principles. Experience with diagnostic tools. Experience developing fault detection and diagnostic algorithms. Familiarity with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) testing. Experience with data analysis and visualization tools. Familiarity with Python. Familiarity with Microsoft PowerPoint. Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, teamwork, and project management skills.
