Job description

Position Summary:
Newark High School is seeking an Athletic Trainer to provide athletic training services for our student-athletes. Interested candidates should fill out the online application and attach a resume along with professional references.  

Start Date: August 20th, 2026

Salary: $55 per hour

Responsibilities:

  • Provide injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation services for student-athletes
  • Develop and implement rehabilitation programs for injured athletes
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, coaches, athletes, parents, and school personnel regarding injuries and return-to-play protocols
  • Maintain accurate medical records and injury documentation
  • Ensure compliance with IHSA, district, and state guidelines related to sports medicine and athlete safety
  • Assist with pre-participation physicals, concussion management, and emergency action planning

Qualifications:

  • Illinois Athletic Trainer license (or ability to obtain prior to employment)
  • Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certification
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as required by athletic schedules
