Job description

Description:

This employee will have a weekly, full-time schedule that will be established following confirmation of events for the 2025-2026 academic school year. If this person is unable to attend the scheduled events due to unexpected illness, vacation, or emergency, the director of rehab will attempt to delegate schedule to a DPT, PTA, or OT staff member within the rehabilitation department.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Attendance for athletic events based on priority of schedule provided by the athletic director
  • Punctual and timely arrival to designated athletic fields
  • Assuring timely and appropriate care based on the student athlete’s presentation
  • Performing thorough assessments of musculoskeletal injuries
  • Establishing an intervention and recommended level of activity to assure safety
  • Communicating with coaching staff to assure daily needs are met for each athletic season
  • Assisting with community events, as needed
  • Providing prompt notice of absence or need for change of schedule with Director of Rehab via telephone
  • Referring athletes for additional medical care, if needed
  • Performing clinical setting treatment sessions, as needed
  • The athletic trainer will also perform any other duties assigned by the director of rehabilitation and hospital administration
Requirements:

Licensure Requirement: Minimum of an Bachelor's Degree


Physical Requirements:

  • Good overall mental and physical health
  • Stamina and endurance for expected shifts
  • Enhanced physical activity tolerance
  • Ability to perform proper lifting > 60 pounds
  • Occasional sitting
  • Frequent lifting of 10-30+ pounds

Experience Requirements: None; 2 years preferred
