Position Overview

ProMedication Counseling Center in Rochester, New York, is seeking a dedicated full-time Physical Therapist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in assisting patients in their journey to regain mobility and enhance their quality of life. Your contributions to treatment planning and patient care will be instrumental in helping individuals achieve their highest level of physical function.

At ProMedication Counseling Center, we are committed to delivering exceptional care within a state-of-the-art 5,000 square-foot rehabilitation and sports medicine facility. Our center specializes in internal medicine and provides treatment primarily for patients with private medical insurance. You will be working alongside a collaborative team of two experienced physical therapists and one Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in an environment that emphasizes both professional development and a patient-centered approach.

Work Environment

This is an onsite position where you will work Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM. Our facility is designed to provide a comfortable and supportive atmosphere for both staff and patients, equipped with the latest rehabilitation technologies and therapeutic equipment. We foster a culture of teamwork and encourage continuous learning, making it an ideal setting for passionate healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist at ProMedication Counseling Center, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting thorough assessments to identify patient needs and establish individualized treatment objectives.
  • Managing a patient load typically consisting of one patient per hour, ensuring high-quality, focused care.
  • Crafting comprehensive care plans utilizing a variety of therapeutic techniques and modalities.
  • Administering evidence-based treatments aimed at enhancing patients' motion, strength, and mobility.
  • Motivating and guiding patients through their rehabilitation process to maximize functional independence.
  • Collaborating with colleagues and other healthcare professionals to create a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
  • Documenting patient progress and treatment results thoroughly and accurately within our electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Providing education to patients regarding their conditions and encouraging healthy lifestyle choices that promote long-term wellness.
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of interventions and adjusting treatment strategies as needed.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on a diverse patient population, primarily comprising individuals with orthopedic needs requiring outpatient therapy services. You will work closely with patients ranging from athletes to older adults, assisting them in overcoming physical challenges following injuries or surgeries, while also preventing future complications.

Qualifications

To qualify for this exciting position, candidates must possess the following:

  • A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program.
  • A valid and current license to practice as a Physical Therapist in the state of New York.
  • A proven track record with no disciplinary actions or board actions against the physical therapy licensure.
Preferred Experience

While all qualified applicants are encouraged to apply, the ideal candidate will have:

  • A minimum of two years of experience working in an orthopedic outpatient setting.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in applying manual therapy techniques.
  • Experience creating and implementing personalized exercise regimens tailored to individual needs.
