Job description

Johnson Service Group is seeking a skilled and experienced Inventory Control Specialist for a 6-month contract position at Vandenberg AFB in California.

Selected candidates MUST be a United States Citizen and MUST provide a DOB (MM/DD), Last 4 digits of your SSN, and complete a Right to Represent form in order to be considered.

This position requires an extensive background check. Candidates must not have any felony charges or convictions.

Job Title: Inventory Control Specialist

Pay Rate: $40/hr

Location: Vandenberg AFB (Vandenberg Space Force Base, CA 93437)

Contract Length: 6-months

Material Coordinator will be reviewing daily requests, working non-recurring activities with ULA contractors and supporting groups, providing day-to-day support and communicating effectively.

The successful candidate has working knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system and utilizes data driven decision making to enable effective material forecasting and inventory functions.

The role requires daily successful interaction with cross-functional teams to meet organizational goals and objectives. These groups include procurement, Engineering, Product Operations, Quality, Test and Design, Maintenance, Warehouse, Transportation and Management across multiple sites.

The individual in this role will need to align with SLC-3 execution plans to meet critical deadlines with launch pad construction and activations.

Duties:

  • The individual will foster a working environment that promotes safety as top priority, compliance and quality while achieving overall customer requirements.
  • This position focuses heavily on supporting non-recurring activities.
  • The individual in this position will also support Warehouse Inventory Operations in preparation for SLC-3 Vulcan Activations.
  • Communicates opportunities / issues / discrepancies with Leadership for review and resolution

Additionally, the successful candidate should anticipate the following responsibilities:

  • Plan, schedule and monitor the efficient movement of material from identification of the requirement to delivery to the end user.
  • Actioning last-minute shipments and receipts pertaining to non-recurring activities.
  • Validating and understanding planned orders for production orders or purchase requisitions.
  • Comply with customer time sensitive requests.
  • Provide escort support for deliveries onto the base.
  • Plans and/or controls inventory of finished goods for warehouses, distribution centers, and factory mixing points to meet distribution demand.
  • Analyzes inventory levels, inventory positioning.
  • Develops and maintains inputs to inventory system.
  • Coordinates with traffic, production planning, and warehouse personnel to ensure appropriate routing, scheduling, and storing of goods.
