Job Overview
Saronic Technologies is seeking an Industrial Engineer (IE) to design and validate the physical manufacturing system of the shipyard. This role is responsible for developing building layouts, process flow paths, square footage requirements, and capacity models across all major shipyard functions.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop end-to-end shipyard layouts based on throughput, product mix, and block construction strategy
  • Define building footprints, clear heights, bay sizing, and crane coverage
  • Establish square footage requirements for panel fabrication, sub-assembly, block assembly, and pre-outfitting
  • Develop capacity and throughput models
  • Ensure layouts support automation-first processes
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and finance
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Systems Engineering, or similar
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial facility layout or manufacturing system design
  • Strong understanding of material flow optimization and bottleneck analysis

Preferred Experience
  • Heavy manufacturing experience
  • Greenfield facility design exposure
  • Experience in 3D Facility modeling
  • Familiarity with automation-enabled production systems
  • Experience working closely with both design teams and shop-floor operations
