Position Information
Job Title Custodian - Pool - PK Position Number 299886 Hiring Location Code Job Description
GENERAL STATEMENT OF FUNCTION: The Custodian will provide cleaning services at assigned locations to ensure a clean, safe and professional appearance of campus buildings is maintained at all times. The custodian will report to the Assistant Superintendent of Support Services.
Job Duties
1. Work under the direction of immediate Supervisor and perform all duties as assigned.
2. Perform all duties assigned in a timely manner.
3. Accountable for all tools, equipment and supplies issued.
4. Perform all duties observing safety procedures and utilizing proper equipment (safety glasses, gloves, caution tape/tags, wet floor signs, etc.)
6. Responsible for the appearance and cleanliness of campus facilities.
7. Assist with the movement of equipment and furniture as well as setup and tear down for campus functions.
8. Responsible for adhering to established procedures.
9. Perform additional duties as assigned.
10. Work with other personnel as assigned.
11. Work on weekends, holidays, evening/nights and all other hours as required.
12. Must be able to climb on ladders, working in confined spaces and other physically demanding duties.
13. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
14. Adhere to all college policies and procedures.
Mandatory Qualifications
M1 - High School Diploma or High School Equivalency
M2 - Valid Driver's license and must remain in good standing while employed
M3 - Custodial experience
M4 - Ability to communicate effectively with college personnel and students
Desirable Qualifications
D1 - Experience using a floor machine, buffer or extractor
D2 - Three or more years of custodial experience
D3 - Custodial experience in an educational setting
