Job description

DESCRIPTION
PACKER/STACKER DAY SHIFT
Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm
PURPOSE - Ensures that manufactured items are ready for shipment by working on the assembly line placing finished products into the appropriate packaging, seals, and labels to prepare the item for transport.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Package finished goods into designated boxes at the correct quantity quickly and efficiently before sending down the production line
• Responsible for ensuring the integrity and cleanliness of container before packaging
• Ensure product is sealed, boxed, and labeled with appropriate materials
• Send case through tape machine
• Check that case has correct product label and production code.
• Monitor line equipment for proper operation during production
• Identify, dispose, and report problems or machine issues that prevent making a quality product
• Ability to be on pace with machine output and line flow
• Monitor line production in order to detect and report quality issues with the final product
• Provide assistance and breaks to any and all positions on the production line when needed
• Actively participate in and support continuous improvement efforts
• Follow all company guidelines regarding packaging
• Maintain a clean working area
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures
• Adhere to all food safety guidelines and procedures
• Adhere to the rules and regulations of all Louisiana Fish Fry regulatory agencies.
• Adhere to all Good Manufacturing Practices
• Perform all tasks as directed by direct supervisor or other management.
• Complies with all company policies and procedures created to ensure the production of high-quality food-safe products.
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/COMPENTENCIES-
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and possess the reading, writing, and arithmetic skills necessary to perform the position's tasks.
• Must be available to work outside of normal schedule.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. for a constant 8-hour work day.
• Must be able to stand, lift, and twist for an 8-hour workday.
