Data Analyst – Data Integration & Enablement

Location: Salt Lake City, UT

Job Type: Contract

Experience: 2+ years

Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred

Job Summary

Our client is seeking a Data Analyst to support data integration and enablement initiatives. This role will help build and maintain the data foundation supporting regulatory and financial reporting, analytics, and other business initiatives.

The Data Analyst will work with both business and technology teams to gather requirements, profile source systems, design data flows, document metadata and transformation logic, develop test cases, and validate data quality.

The role will work with data across modern platforms including Enterprise Data Warehouse, Data Lake, Data Mesh, and Operational Data Store (ODS) environments.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and translate business requirements into data solutions.
  • Partner with business and technology stakeholders to understand data requirements.
  • Profile source systems and understand underlying data models.
  • Design efficient data integrations and data flows.
  • Document metadata, transformation rules, and data lineage.
  • Develop and execute test cases to validate data quality and integrity.
  • Build and maintain automated processes for data validation and reporting.
  • Validate data accuracy, completeness, and usability.
  • Collaborate with end users to ensure delivered data meets business requirements.
  • Support data integration and enablement initiatives across the organization.

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in data analysis, data integration, or a related field.
  • Strong SQL skills, including data profiling, transformation, testing, and validation.
  • Experience with Python.
  • Experience gathering requirements and working directly with business stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience documenting technical processes, data requirements, and transformation logic.
  • Bachelor’s degree in data, analytics, business, computer science, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience providing project leadership or mentoring others.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with modern data stack technologies such as dbt, Databricks, and GCP.
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Data Warehouse, Data Lake, Data Mesh, or ODS environments.
  • Understanding of data governance, metadata, data lineage, and data quality practices.
  • Familiarity with AI concepts and prompt engineering.
