Purpose:

Seeking a category analyst to join Diageo’s Space Optimization team. As part of the broader category management department, this role will work in partnership with category advisor teams to ensure our customer’s shelf management strategies are implemented - by providing assortment and shelf recommendations through a fact-based approach.

Complexity of Role:

Candidate will develop a solid understanding of the business, products, markets, and the needs of customers; being recognized as a shelf management expert in the Spirits category. Complexity is high (very SKU intensive category) and flexibility is critical in a dynamic fast-paced environment. The role requires a significant level of collaboration and the ability to build productive relationships with both internal and external partners.

Key Outputs/Results:

Maintain strong working relationships with cross-functional partners to support objectives, goals and outcomes. Implement planogram recommendations to increase efficiency & conversion, improve shopability and space to sales optimization utilizing JDA and Shelf IQ technology. Support regular reporting to highlight performance and growth opportunities. Use various data sources including syndicated data, retailer POS, planogram data. Assume ownership of assigned tools, processes, and tasks.

Experience/Skills:

Minimum 2-3 years of experience required in Category Management Space Planning, preferably in CPG or Adult Beverage categories. Strong technical capabilities with experience in software systems relevant to the Category Management function including space planning software (JDA and/or Shelf IQ) and syndicated data sources. Strong project management, time management, and organizational skills are essential. Advanced computer skills; proficient in Excel and Powerpoint. Ability to connect insight to actionable store execution. Must have ability to work independently in a remote environment. Ability to travel 10%.
