Job description

GCyber is hiring a Senior Voice Engineer to support a high-profile Air Force network program. The Tier Senior Voice Engineer is responsible for the Cisco VoIP environment, from Call Manager through the SIP connections to external and customer voice networks.

This position is full time onsite at Scott AFB, IL. Given the classified nature of the work, there is no opportunity for hybrid or remote work.

This position is contingent upon contract award.

Responsibilities
  • Configure, develop, patch, STIG, and add features to the Cisco VoIP system, including Cisco Unified Call Manager (CUCM), Cisco Unity, Instant Message and Presence, teleconference bridges, and Ribbon VX900 devices.
  • Develop configurations for Cisco Unified Border Elements, Session Border Controllers, and other SIP devices that connect the network to external voice systems.
  • Develop and troubleshoot SIP connections to customer networks, including Asterisk networks, Call Manager Express, and Survivable Remote Site Telephony (SRST).
  • Support and sustain the VoIP capability in the Systems Integration Lab and at three operational gateway sites.
  • Perform and assist with Tier 3 network engineering work.
  • Keep voice infrastructure current with DISA STIG and cyber tasking order requirements.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
  • Active DoD TOP SECRET clearance
  • Cisco voice certification with a concentration in Cisco Unified Call Manager (CUCM)
  • DoD 8140/8570 IAT Level II certification.
  • BA/BS and a minimum of 5 years of VoIP experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Hands‑on administration of CUCM, Cisco Unity, Instant Message and Presence, and teleconference bridges in a production environment.
  • Experience designing and troubleshooting SIP trunks between organizations.
  • Experience patching and STIGing voice infrastructure to DoD compliance timelines.
  • Routing and switching experience sufficient to support Tier 3 network engineering work.
Preferred Skills & Experience
  • CCNP Collaboration.
  • Hands‑on Ribbon VX900 or SBC 1000/2000 series configuration.
  • Experience with airborne or SATCOM voice systems.
  • Asterisk or open‑source PBX experience.
