Job description

AST SpaceMobile is building the first and only global cellular broadband network in space to operate directly with standard, unmodified mobile devices based on our extensive IP and patent portfolio and designed for both commercial and government applications. Our engineers and space scientists are on a mission to eliminate the connectivity gaps faced by today's five billion mobile subscribers and finally bring broadband to the billions who remain unconnected.

This position is based in our satellite production facility in Midland, TX.

Position Overview

AST SpaceMobile is seeking a Custodian responsible for maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and safety standards throughout the manufacturing facility. This role ensures that production areas, restrooms, break rooms, and common spaces are clean, organized, and compliant with company and regulatory requirements.

This role supports Full-time, Shift Openings as follows:

Base Pay is $20.00 an hour

  • Monday thru Thursday: 7:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. (4x10s). (4 openings) 1st
  • Monday thru Thursday: 6:00 p.m.–4:00 a.m. (4x10s) (4 openings) 2nd
  • Friday thru Sunday: 6 am to 6 pm (4 openings) 3rd
  • Friday thru Sunday: 6 pm to 6 am (4 openings) 4th

What you'll do:

  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, locker rooms, and break areas
  • Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum floors in production and office areas, according to custodial SOP
  • Remove trash and recycling; dispose of waste according to facility procedures
  • Clean machinery exteriors, work surfaces, and equipment (as permitted)
  • Refill supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper
  • Maintain cleaning equipment and report any maintenance needs
  • Follow safety procedures, including proper handling of chemicals and PPE use
  • Respond to spills or emergency clean-up situations promptly
  • Support basic housekeeping in production areas to maintain inspection readiness
  • Assist with periodic deep cleaning tasks (floors, walls, vents, etc.)
  • Follow all company policies and OSHA safety standards
  • Support facility audits and inspections
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What You Bring:

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Previous custodial, janitorial, or industrial cleaning experience preferred (1-3 years)
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment (noise, dust, varying temperatures)
  • Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and safety procedures
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

  • Ability to work in a standard office environment and use a computer for extended periods
  • Ability to stand/work on your feet and walk for extended periods of time
  • Ability to use hands and fingers to perform repetitive and precision tasks
