Catallia Mexican Foods, LLC is looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Technician to join our team on 3rd shift!
Shift: 3rd (9:00 p.m. - 5:30 a.m., Monday - Friday, Required Overtime on Saturdays per production demands)

Position Overview
This is a hands-on position and will require that the individual leads and monitors all aspects of quality assurance within the plant. The Quality Assurance Technician will be accountable for food safety systems and quality systems.
Key Responsibilities amp; Essential Functions
  • Ensure compliance with established policies and procedures such as SQF, HACCP, GMPs, SSOP, process deviations, holds and releases in ERP System (PLEX), and required paper forms.
  • Verify all ingredients and materials used are recorded correctly in ERP System (PLEX), and make any necessary adjustments. Include adjustments made in the end-of-shift QA Report.
  • Assist with solving problems by analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions, and recommending action.
  • Ensure proper documentation of Quality Assurance disputes and/or concerns in the daily QA Report.
  • Effectively communicate quality control expectations to a wide range of in-house employees.
  • Adjust quantities when requested by production associates in ERP System (PLEX).
  • Conduct sensory evaluations and enter the results into a database.
  • Follow instructions as directed by Quality Assurance leadership.
  • Perform basic lab analysis (pH, moisture) on finished product.
  • Send completed daily QA Report at the end of every shift.
  • Direct the day-to-day quality and food safety activities.
  • Verify the calibration of all scales and thermometers.
  • Conduct metal detector challenges and observations.
  • Collect flour tailings and document findings.
  • Ensure specification compliance.
  • Assist with training for GMPs.
  • Monitor GMPs for compliance.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Communicate effectively with team members from other shifts to ensure clarity and continuity.
  • Actively participate in Food Safety and Food Defense related activities.
  • Perform additional duties as directed.
Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1โ€“3 years of experience in food quality, including GMPs, HACCP, food safety and sanitation, data collection and analysis, laboratory skills, etc.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and oral/written communication skills.
  • English language proficiency, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and solid math skills.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to push and lift up to 50 pounds to a height of approximately 4 feet.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend and move throughout the assigned shift.
  • Must be comfortable performing repetitive movements and tasks.
  • Must be comfortable working in a loud and fast-paced environment.
  • Must be comfortable working in a hot environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Post-high school training in laboratory sciences or a related field preferred.
  • Ability to work alone or on teams.
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Hands-on individual.
  • Experience in SQF.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Flexibility.
