Company Description Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) is a public school district serving the diverse communities of Miami-Dade County, Florida. M-DCPS offers a wide range of academic programs and support services to meet the needs of students from varied backgrounds. The district is committed to educational excellence, innovation, and preparing learners for college, careers, and civic life.
Role Description The Computer Science Teacher is a full-time, on-site position located in North Miami, FL. This role involves planning and delivering engaging computer science lessons aligned with district standards, using a variety of instructional strategies and technologies. The teacher will design, implement, and refine curriculum units; assess student learning; provide feedback; and maintain accurate records of progress. Daily responsibilities include creating a positive, inclusive classroom environment, supporting students’ problem-solving and computational thinking skills, collaborating with colleagues and families, and participating in school-wide professional development and initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Strong foundation in Computer Science and related concepts, with the ability to explain technical material clearly to learners at different levels.
  • Experience or formal training in Computer Science Education, including effective classroom instruction and use of educational technology.
  • Ability to create thoughtful Lesson Plans and contribute to Curriculum Development that align with district standards and best practices.
  • Proficiency in Mathematics sufficient to support computer science topics such as algorithms, logic, and data analysis.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Education, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications are a plus.
